Nope. They’re more intelligent as you give them credit. They are able to tell when a predator is larger, hence they know attack is futile. If you were to press on them however, then they’d get defensive. But I held one today. He was very kind.

.... is trembling a normal trait of this specie of the mantis?... normally they're so calm and collected that it's scary. As if they KNOW they're alpha of the insect world. It's behavior... is unsettling to me.
