***** generally speaking that is true.. but Ive had larger breeds and one currently is 13. Still doing quite well. My neighbor has a newfie and he is 14... just dont want people to think maybe they shouldnt look at larger breed dogs because they are just going to die after a few years.. that is not the case.

Ben Kahaly My friend that is just plain B/S! Let me just ask you this.. Do you not realize that canned wet and dry kibble dog food was invented only just about 100 years ago... Maybe less than 100... I have to do the math.. So let me ask you this.. How did dogs live with people for the other 4 thousand + years before dog food existed??????? What did we feed them then??? make believe kibble??? No We fed them what we ate.. Do you know why dog food was invented?? So we could be lazy and not have to cook for them.. And originally dog food companies actually told people not to feed them the processed crap more than twice a week.. Why because it is "PROCESSED" fake food.. Dogfood companies don't want you to know the very real benefits of feeding real food to your dog.. They just want you to spend your cash on their product.. Also this accelerated cancer growth.. And other digestive issues all come from the fake foods we feed them.. And no one wants to talk about it.. Why, because people are to lazy to cook now a days.. Its just easier to drop some kibble and run.. Kibble is ok if you mix it with something real.. dogs eat the same foods we do.. Look at the human triangle diet that is all to known... Dogs eat almost exactly the same as we do except where we have fruits dogs have that extra serving of meats. That is what they are suppose to have nutrition wise.. But thanks to crappy fibbing dogfood companies dogs never get the true diet they are suppose to have anymore. A dog is not much different to us.. Its just a lot of people want to errrr ">

ow.. rip beautiful boy! Thank you for representing big doggie giants that are so very placid and the perfect companions. So many big or muscly dogs have such a bad reputation, This big guy proves that even big intimiddating looking dogs are really just overgrown puppies and therefore babies that are just happy to be loved and not anything to be afraid of. I miss my Great Dane, Gandalf! He pasted away last year (A year ago last month). He was a Harlequin and also a runt but he ended up being the biggest in the litter. He was my baby and I miss him so much. He past a month after his 9th birthday! Miss you Gandalf!!!💗💗💗

Giant George is magnificent! Brought to mind, my father always chose the runt of the litter when it came to cats. They also would grow to be quite large. Well fed and cared for. I am a dog person and now in my later years I seem to be picking out the little breeds, but love them all.

I've got a greyhound collie cross and kids usually try to jump on his back, I have to tell them not too because he is a powerful working dog he's not your average Lurcher, he's actually really powerful just in case he doesn't know his own strength. I am 6 foot 4 and a half and he can knock me on my arse, imagine what he could do to someone who's not much taller than 3 or 4 feet lol

I own great danes and George is so beautiful. Danes are the most inquisitives dogs out there and very powerful.its funny how the runts of the little turn out to be the biggest when fully grown,we bred our stud and the runts of the litter were the biggest..

I love Great Danes, i have them and my male little smaller then George (RIP) he topped 250 pounds. they are wonderful animals and i would not have nothing different. I lost my Sirenia Marie last July to bloat, her daughter Alexus Nichole will be eight this year and Niko Maki Alexus's daddy will be 9 this year he has hip issues real bad. But after owning Great Danes, well i will always own then. they are wonderful. The easiest to house train, smart, protective, and loving family members.

My Dane was the only surviver of his litter(his mom suffocated them because it was her first litter). We took him and he grew up to 175 lbs, a baby face and not to tall but he is an amazing dog.

My favorite breed. I once had a Harliquin.He was my best friend. I hope that my next dog will be a Dane. They are the most lovable breed. I had a niece that standing come to his shoulders and she would walk him on a little ribbon. My neighbors that the dog had 2 extra legs because they couldn't see her head. Best dogs ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
