George I never miss a video! Because your location is on the other part of the planet and you always have something to do because your winters are so much warmer and productive than my northeast USA where l get tons of snow ❄️ so l always have your journey videos to keep me entertained so thanks amigo!

Although we get no snow or hard freezes, Melbourne is still considered to be a hellish place for many Australians living in the warm tropics. Nobody here tries with tropicals because they will or have failed when planting cold sensitive plants at the wrong time or unprotected in the first years, so that's why my channel surprises everyone. Thanks for the support and happy gardening this summer!

Fabulous looking persimmons, I'm finding it borderline here for growing them. The trees do fine of course but our summers are generally a bit too cool and short to get the size and sugars into the fruit that I'd like to see. Of course I'm probably stunting the trees and fruits a bit by growing them in containers 🤪

Persimmon, avocado, fig and citrus mature and fruit excellently here, with the least care. Inground tropicals are the real challenge for me, just like pesimmon is for you.

I've tried pushing my message for over a decade, but the algorithm hasn't worked well for me. The channel subs should be well over 100k, maybe some day. Thanks for your support!

I take note, my next purchase Jiro persimmon. I have the Fuyu, Sharon and Caucasian. Fuyu is sweet even a little green.

Hi there George my friend the Giro persimmons are the best commercial variety persimmons on the planet better than fuyu you know why because they have got a higher sugar content and when they get tree ripened and go super super soft and super red colour they are like honey.

I know what you're talking about,the person who bought my grandfathers old house near Mullumbimby in NSW is basically one of him whose a Gordon who turned what there was into bugger all because when my brother went to pay them a visit on his honeymoon,he kind of didn't know what condition they keep the property in. There was about probably 1/2 an acre of banana 🍌 plantation left after my grandfather sold most of his kind of agistered banana 🍌 plantation off to another farmer over 40 years ago after he retired from farming because all of that land was leased from the Brisbane University. My grandfather eventually bought about 1 acre or so of land off them after the lease expired I think because at one stage they told him that he would have to move his house after the lease expired,no joke. Well, when my brother & his wife visited the new owners the fruit was dead & rotting on the banana 🍌 plants & it was like they couldn't afford to buy a lawnmower & petrol to mow the lawn, the grass was very long but they could somehow afford to try & renovate the house which wasn't worth renovating because my uncle is a retired builder there who wanted to bulldoze the 74 year old house which needed repiering or restumping because the wooden piers are rotted out. It would've been cheaper for him to build one of his new portable homes on it rather than trying to fix their old house up but the new owners seemed to have turned there into bugger all. There are people who wonder why I would have him who was a banana 🍌 farmer in my area near Newcastle in New South Wales, ha was growing guavas,Taro, grapes 🍇 & before he became allergic to papaya,he was growing that as well, they grew pineapples 🍍 as well when my father was a boy. It was 14°C in my area today so it's the coldest it has been for a while during the day as well but it's meant to warm up to 21°C next weekend which would be nice, we've been getting heaps of rain as well. So yes,it seems like I upset a Mee or a Green who doesn't like that stuff in my local area, people have been telling me they're that sort of Lieb who wish I would just go to a May whose Martin as well !

Hi George! Thanks for sharing! Have you tried dried persimmons? It tastes like dried apricots. Could you please tell me in which episode you explained how to make a fruit fly trap? I would like to have a go at making one.
@RealLifeFruitopia
@RealLifeFruitopia 28 дней назад
I made the bait trap with an empty plastic vinegar bottle, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid, a cup of vinegar and 2-3 cups of water, tighten cap, mix well. Poke 4 small holes in the bottle. I might have tried dried persimmon, not sure, a great idea.

I slave for my trees daily and night too when they produce I jump with joy but shortly after. I get angry because half of the fruits are eaten by animals 😢😢😢

Not getting under 32f or 0c helps out alot. Basically zone 10a . 9b is 25f to 30f. Melbourne hasn't bwen below 32f in 100 years. But the awesome thing is you have alot of days under 45f. So you can grow mangos and stone fruit in aame yard. I would say Melbourne is on par with southern California. A fruit growers paradise. Everything looks great brother!

I guess so Thomas, but the long cool winters are a real drain on someone like myself who adores sunshine and warmth! I'd say I have the perfect weather for growing mostly temperate fruit trees and citrus. Subtropicals are extremely slow to fruit as summer heat lasts only 3 months, then it's back into the 50's-60's for 9 months!

Hi. You said it’s even better than White Sapote. Did you consider your favourite WS (Hawaiian Supreme and Suebell) in your comparison ? Thanks.
@RealLifeFruitopia
@RealLifeFruitopia 27 дней назад
Jiro has a better flavour as in richer and deeper than WS, not sweeter. Fuyu aren't as good or equal to Jiro.

Hows this compared to saruga?
@RealLifeFruitopia
@RealLifeFruitopia 26 дней назад
Suruga has given only a first year crop and might improve. Jiro is tastiest so far.

George nothing is better than white sapote except the king of the king of all the fruits in the world Durians .
@RealLifeFruitopia
@RealLifeFruitopia 27 дней назад
Cempedak, marang and other creamy tropicals are way tastier than the best WS. There are many other rare fruits that taste from out of this world, like abiu, sapodilla and star apple. Durian is always the king.
