I was having lunch with a girlfriend today and I told her I was going to the yorke peninsula to go fishing, she looked perplexed. So I told her its all good, there is a lovely young man named Nev who is teaching me all I need to know. I need to go and buy a rod and stuff and then I am off. Thanks Nev, from a great greatfull great grandmother.
Mate, I’ve watch about 50 of your videos and how you sounded when your got your first one (let alone your second) gave away how special this was. Keep it up and thanks for sharing/teaching…
Amazing fishing Nev your content is always top notch, u explained the plan, showed us the plan then made it happen. Mate your second hook up had me praying to the fishing gods for u to catch it, believe me I can say on behalf of your followers we were nearly as happy and excited as you to see you catch that kingy, made my day. Just love this channel it’s a great credit to you, your honest and dedicated approach whilst teaching us all along the way is fantastic your family must be so proud of you, this fisho & follower sure is, wonderful effort mate great things happen to good people. Thanks for sharing
Well done Nev big thumbs up thats what its all about love the passion you have and your comments about the waterways and trying to revive the fish you show sustainable fishing habits and still have a ball , Keep it up
Congratulations Nev the fish of a lifetime! It’s great to see you telling us what you’re targeting and going out there and doing it. Well done mate. 👍🏻
Congrats bro, that's a ripper of a king and you aren't gonna forget that session. Can't beat the kings. Looking forward to my first session for the season too! Tight lines
I’m such a fan of your channel! It’s so cool seeing this content created only a couple hours from where I live. The Australian fishing industry only really showcases old men lol! So it’s refreshing to hear your views on fishing, only taking what you need and looking after the ocean. Such an awesome effort catching this king on a kayak. How did you end up preparing and eating it?
not just my favorite youtuber, my favorite youtuber catching my favorite fish!!!!! ive never caught one but have been targeting them for 4 years ill hopefully get one in my life as im only 14 and very uncommon where i live as well.
Mate, Been watching ya since 5k and I just noticed you’ve now got 35k.. absolutely brilliant stuff man keep up the good work, I always get keen when I see a notification pop up 👌
Well done Nev! Thoroughly deserved and stoked for you! Seems like many episodes that involve some bad luck ( mirage drive, snapped rod, lost fish, no sounder, etc ) always ends with you catching a trophy fish by the end. Persistence pays off and you deserve that horse of a kingy!!! Great work mate!
Well we'll well, the king of Western Port slays the kings. Is there nothing this great man can't do from a kayak? I must admit I had a sigh when the first king busted off but you managed to compose yourself and get back in there. Awesome 👌
Mate super stoked for ya!!! First time commenting haha, but love that vibe! More waiting out there! Maybe let’s us know what you do and how you prep that king!!
Awesome catch brother, you should get one of those cords that keep your paddle attached to the kayak, and put it on your net so when youve got a big fish next you can drop the net an focus on the fish an still be able to pull the net back in when you need it
Bud, love your video. Watching the first hookup, paying backward when the fish was streaming line off in the opposite direction around the FAD is only going to end one way. Follow the line keeping it clear. Tight lines.
Looks like the fishing gave you a work out this time. This video showed a bit of emotion and elation associated with fishing which is the reality of course. Thanks for making the video Nev. Good narrative along with scenery too.
Well done Nev, you came, you pursued, and you concurred! The Squid, schnapper and gummy’s are nice, but every Kingy steak you eat will be special, I’m sure!………..Keep it up, and keep it in💪🏼.
I gotta say I love what time you get up and out there! I do the same thing and always catch fish and have them cleaned in cooked before my father in law gets up! It bothers the hell out of him that I do that but it just makes it worth it!
I have caught these fish in NSW but nowhere near that size. That is the fish of a lifetime. Amazing catch, especially for the area it was caught. Well done!
mad work man 👌 we had a good little session at no.13 with the pinkes few nights back. first time using the boat in year. it just sits in storage on the island. need to get out more I think. cracking fish 👌
hi, i was curious as to your rod/reel combo. i am looking to start kayak fishing and in the process of buying some gear. many thx and might see you on the water in the future
Nice fish mate! You need to come to NZ if you think that's a big Kingy though! Solid fish but they get a lot bigger here. Worth the trip I can assure you.
Where's a good place to launch? Went out from hastings the other day no luck busy place. Had planned to go to tooradin yesterday but petrol went over $2.20 Want to try those sandy/weedy areas.. learning heaps cheers 👍
Nice fish. I took my kayak out for the first time in the harbour where I live. We get lots of kingis around here in 3m of water but I haven’t targeted them. I saw 3 nice ones but didn’t hook up, happy with 2 nice silver trevally instead . If u ever come to nz give us a shout :)
Good fish mate, now imagine you get to chase that fish when all the other pelagics are gone.. yep, that’s the Gold Coast 👌 Kings are awesome and pull harder than anything swimming.
I came across your videos recently and have really enjoyed them! I am subscribed! I am a ROOKIE at saltwater fishing, but am learning little by little. I do not have a boat so I just fish from the seawalls here in Japan. I noticed that when you fish a jig, you really give it hard jerks. I have been using just little jerks on the pole thinking that I want to make it look natural. Am I doing it incorrectly? Should I be giving the jig harder shakes on the pole? I expect that I will receive some humorous responses to my question but that is okay. Not sure how else to ask. LOL
