When I lived in Houston in the 80sn early 90s I went to Bomber Field every year i could. I took my dads Control Line Royal B-17 n my House of Balsa Bi-plane. I built both after losing both hands n wearing Prothesics. Thanks fer bringing back some good Memories.
Thanks for putting this together with ambient sound Fitz! I watched the whole darn thing and it was excellent. Watching that A1 go in was heartbreaking.
When I was a kid….everything was connected to the operator with wires…nobody ever heard of Radio Controlled. I could always start my engines in the basement…but when I would get the field…nothing!
I noticed some trouble shooting info about plane weight and engine power difference. When both engine power and plane weight are not right, it causes problems in flight, and landing, also causes STRESS TO structure of planes. Causing them to RIP APART IN AIR. Please don't take offense, I just thought it might help someone save all the beautiful work they did on their planes.
Best RC aircraft video I’ve seen! Is this an annual event? If so, when / where next? Also, why the difficulty with the A1 landings. Thanks for posting.
I've been producing and making RC scale Ground to Air missile launches from various countries, no RC air club or event want me at their venues. I guess their realism only goes so far.
Does anyone know if the BV-141 was scratch built or came as an ARF? Also does anyone know where the model can be obtained from? Many years ago I saw a plan for one and wanted to build it. However the canopy was something that couldn't be purchased as it was no longer made. I am just getting back into the hobby after a lapse of twenty five years and I cannot believe how much things have changed. In my day we had to build of a plan or buy a kit. There was no such thing as ARF or electric motors. Nor was there any of this 2.4Ghz radio systems. I flew on the old FM 36Mhz band. My passion was building and flying WWII scale aircraft along with Pylon Racing.
That was definitely scratch built. There is nothing out there for the 141 except for some crude plans. I've looked everywhere, I'm scratch building one from three views and dimensions found online.
@@lincolnharris3191 hey and thanks for your reply. Yes I have the place where you can buy a plan somewhere in my archives. But the problem was the canopy. So I never puurchased the plan. From memory it was for a 25 or 29 sized nitro engine. But of course if you wanted a bigger scale of the model you could to a photocopy or plan shop and have it blown up. So want one of these though even if it was a foam version :)...
Thanks for a nice video. But for me, everything can become electric... because oh so annoying to have to listen to all the noise in the background.... like for example when the KLM plane flew... I really hope that everything becomes electric so that everyone can enjoy flight without noise.
