Down south we use the same method with bait on a line for yabbies, hand net comes in handy to scoop them up when you get them in close. Easiest way to catch crabs land based is with a hoop net though just chuck em out like a frisbee. We also rake for crabs but I guess you don't wanna do that with crocs around 😂 .

Check out UK crab line it’s thick and has 1mm solid wire trace connected to weight and hook. We use bacon, be like them flies on your back last week in seconds. Bacons good for crayfish its like they know what bacon is or smell it 🖖👀👍
