That's a "Banana Rat"... more similar to a nutria or hutia!

It's not a Rat but a Jutia or Hutia, a family of Rodents. it taste delicious, Cubans cook it in a large pot with honey and wild nuts.

Wow, little dude isn’t scared at all, probably used to be being given food by humans and so doesn’t see them as a threat.

They are actually very intelligent animals, some people in Cuba keep them as pets, while others out in the country eat them.

lovely Jutia or Hutia as someone mentioned already. this is a friendly animal that is not to be confused with the regular house or street rat. Jutias are like the other big animals found in the amazon, i now forgot their name? this jutia is friendy and not afraid of humans. still a woman is seen yelling in the video. i must ask: why is it that all women are afraid of rats??? i really can't understand the psychological connection but it seems that women are naturally afraid of rats. every woman i've known will run and yell at the sight of small mouse or a street rat. i am wondering if there is some unknown history between women and rat?
