thank you man!!! This was just the first regular run, and I was not eve at full throttle. After a couple more runs the carb will be tuned for some more high RPM with a digital RPM meter and we will test the top speed on this thing.

I will demonstrate it in the next few live streams for you. It's not bad, but the build quality of a wl toys is better.

Some of this video was recorded with the newest Go PRO Hero 11 (glad you noticed) lol. To be honest I like the older Hero 8 more, it's got a small body and more space efficient for on road FPV purposes like in this video. My old hero 8 has seen a lot of damage over the years, but still working well.

For my first nitro I got 2 years ago was a revo 3.3 !!! One of the best purchases I made !!

hey dude! I think that is a great decision!! I honestly would not worry so much about which model to get as a first nitro, only that Traxxas has great parts support, many people know how to work on them and they perform well no matter which model you get. hey my dude! I would love to help you out with this question, could you be a little clearer with describing the issue? Im not sure what you're explaining here. The Carb tune is a priority, but as long as it fires up that means it's not totally off.

@@hybrid32494 hello, sorry new to all this, so it all fires as in I pull the pull start and it starts but I pull the acceleration trigger on the control but it doesn’t move at all, abit confused as it’s a brand new car, do I need to set anything to make it go because I thought once started it would be good to go Thank you

"The steering mechanism geometry of the Rovan F5 car isn’t correct from the factory. The mechanism isn't symmetrical, meaning the servos don't work in unison; instead, they fight each other. To have a symmetrical push-pull mechanism, the angles between the steering turnbuckles and servo arms must be 90°, or fairly close. If not, the servos will be pushing, push-pulling, and pulling, during a full deflection. To have 90° at all angles, the opposed sides of the mechanism must be the same length. The F5 is a clone of the MCD XS5 car. Checking the MCD car manual, I found the steering mechanism is correctly designed to be a symmetrical push-pull mechanism. What causes the unsymmetrical problem in the F5 is, Rovan has been incorrectly assembling the steering mechanism of the car, specifically, the steering servo saver wiper arm. To fix the problem, the steering servo saver wiper arm must be reversed. Next, the correct holes of the servo saver wiper arm must chosen. And last, the steering servo turnbuckles linkages, must be adjusted to be equal in length. After doing these corrections, a symmetrical push-pull mechanism is achieved with all of its angles at 90° The factory servo arms and the steering servo saver wiper arm of the F5 car, have their holes at the correct positions for a symmetrical push-pull setup. In addition, you will notice the servo saver wiper arm have holes for a single servo or dual servo steering setup. In conclusion, the modifications needed to fix the problem in the F5 car push-pull steering factory setup are easy with remarkable results: Smoother and stronger steering mechanism response."

thank you for the info my dude!! I will make sure the owner of this car knows about this steering issue. I should have touched the servos after the run to see if either one was warm or not, good point. I normally do check this on my primal MT truck.

Hey man, thanks for checking out this video. These models run two stroke engines. They really don’t depend on anything other than back pressure from the expansion chamber which is the tuned pipe they use. Two stroke engines generally don’t use turbos or superchargers.

@@hybrid32494 yeah I actually found out pretty quickly that putting a keychain turbo on a RC nitro is probably not the best or easiest thing to do. Seems like it just causes more issues from what I’ve found. I know snowmobiles are 2 stroke Turbo. Small turbos but they ripp. You would have to fabricate a very elaborate and intricate turbo system for it to actually work. So the boost gets into the cylinder head only on that compression stroke. Then the whole back pressure thing these nitros run on for fuel burn. 😳Sounds like a tricky tricky puzzle to efficiently and effectively install one that would actually do anything. . 😂

hey bro! YEs! you got that right, MCD for sure, but for much less cash, and they seem to be terrific for the price. I'll get some more wheel time with this thing soon and report back.

@@hybrid32494 yeah! They're quite literally 1/3 of the price of an MCD and have 100% parts compatibility with them also.

hey buddy! This was running pre-mix fuel at a 25:1 fuel ratio, not likely that it was lean. There was also ample smoke out from the pipe. There will be more on this gas RC soon, thanks for checking out this video and your comment.
