Giant Scale RC P-38 Lightning 'Honey Bunny' (Ziroli) -- Bomberfield USA 2021 

The P-38 lightning is about as unmistakable a warbird as you can get and this plans built Ziroli was as beautiful a representation that I have seen in sub scale. It was beautifully built and wonderfully detailed with convincingly applied rivets. The model was built by Mike McCormick by first tracing the plans in CAD and the parts cut on his own DIY router. The specs are as follows:
· 114” wingspan, weight 50lbs RTF
· 2 each Dualsky GA6000.8 180kv motors
· Castle Creations 160amp HV ESC
· 4 each Thunder Power 6s 9000mah UAV/commercial series batteries. 2 each in series, then wired parallel to create a 12s 18000mah pack running to both motors.
· Rasmoser VarioProps 19.9x16 3 blades CW and CCW (adjustable pitch).
· Sierra P-38 tri-gear
· Robart air brakes
· Kavan mini switch for the automotive super bright led’s
· 3/4oz fiberglass cloth
· painted with Klass Kote epoxy paint.
· 65,000 plus rivets and screws.
· Flightline Graphics nomenclature and paint mask package.
· Self made waterslide nose art from a picture of the full size Honey Bunny.
