If an alien species has technology advanced enough for interstellar travel, the possibility of hostility at the planet (and potentially from a species) they're visiting is most likely already been considered. I've read something about this, how various cultures percieve color, for example, because of what words their language uses for various colors, but getting to see the future seems to be taking this idea too far.
