Wazzup Amigo José Once again You are The Striper King! I know of no one who catches more Striped Bass, and more consistently, without a boat than this man. YouDa'MAAAN José! 💪😎💪
They do but they are slowly disappearing because many anglers don't believe in releasing fish as long as it's legal. On the East Coast, big stripers are very common. You know why? The slot limit of 28-31 inches forces anglers to release the big ones. It probably makes some people angry but it makes the fishery a lot more exciting with so many big fish to catch.
Those big fish are the breeders. Those fish are usually 20+ years old. Those are the ones we need to release so they can spawn and make more big fish. People used to catch big fish like that all the time but then people started taking all the giants and were surprised when they were gone. I usually throw back anything over 34”. My biggest release was a 51” that was over 50lbs.
All fish breed, bro. Taking fish this size isn't killing fisheries. Poaching kills fisheries. If someone has a license, all power to them to keep their daily legal limit.
@@closfishes all I can say is people used to catch these regularly and now they’re rare. I didn’t believe it either when I was young either. Just like with salmon… there used to be 70-80lbers caught. Now when people catch a 30-40lb fish people hear about it all over the internet. I know it’s not against the law to keep them in this state yet, but many older folks already know what will happen in the long run. You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about in 20-30 years; when people are excited to catch a 30inch striper and they’re holding it up like that 50lber. Ask all the people from the east coast… all their fisheries got screwed just like this. That’s why they have such strict rules now; and the fish are slowly coming back. If you want your children, nieces and nephews to be able to enjoy what we are enjoying now, stop and think about it for a second. Why not take 2 18-34” younger fish instead of a giant old breeder that’s 20-30+ years old. The rich folks who influence the government want us to kill off the fish… if there’s no fish or animals then there’s nothing to protect and they can start buying and selling our resources. They want to sell the water to so cal then buy the land when the water is gone. If you’re hungry then eat the fish; if you’re not starving then maybe think about our children’s future.
should have just taken pictures with yourself and then let go. Fish that big and old will not taste as good as a smaller striper 22 inches and above. Don't hold the fish on its gills unless it is a limit size and you will be keeping it.
Can't even figure out where that is, and I live in sacramento ..lol.. You have a very thick accent and the caption doesn't spell what your saying properly. Did you say: "san luis reservoir santa nella 4bay dam". Is that near Los Banos?
This fish should have been released! So sad ignorant people go out and ruin a fishery! Before going fishing how about you educated yourself!!! Fisherman of 27 years! I know what I’m talking about. Thumbs down on this video!
@@joseduran7368 Stop with your opinions. You literally have nothing to back your claims kid. But nice try. Funny how you enjoy making a fool of yourself on the world wide web.
Fish tacos! Funny how everyone says release those. Watch an Alan Fong video where he clearly states that back in the day they would keep all the big ones and eat them. If that is so, then the Striper population should be decimated....and it is not! Stripers are not native to the Delta anyway...population is strong! Keep what you want, when you want! It is good to harvest some of the big girls and give the other species some relief too! Stripers eat everything!
Ignorance is bliss… that’s the same dumbass shiet my dad said and now there’s no more giant stripers that live year round in the sac river. There used to be huge native stripers in our river. Now there ain’t shiet in the sac river unless the fish are running because all your take any striper buddies are taking everything they catch, including the dinks. Idk if you’re a poacher too but maybe telling people to keep everything isn’t the best idea. If you know Alan too ask him about all the big ass stripers people used to catch at the river near his house… all the fish are gone. No one even fishes there because the fish are gone. There’s just a bunch of homeless people now because all the immigrant fisherman listened to people like you and went there everyday for years and the fish are gone. The striper have been decimated. You just never saw them in their prime.
Agree 100% Stripers are known to retain a lot of mercury in their meat, so I try not to eat them over 15lbs, and bleed them out when I'm keeping some to eat..
