GIANT Tuna Under World's BIGGEST Oil Rig! Catch Clean Cook (Yellowfin Tuna)

We took a trip up to Dauphin Island, Alabama to fish the massive oil rigs found spread across the Gulf of Mexico. Our goal was to start by bottom fishing and slow pitch jigging for grouper and snapper next to the oil rigs. Then we headed to the Perdido the largest oil rig in the gulf of Mexico and one of the largest in the world, for the afternoon and nighttime tuna bite! We were spoiled with an epic yellowfin tuna bite, with several fish over the 100lb mark! Stoked to share this yellowfin tuna catch clean cook with you guys!

Awesome video and absolutely the trip of a lifetime. I went on my first offshore trip of my life back in the mid 80s out of Gulf Shores. We had a family friend who had a cabin in Orange Beach. We went there every summer when i was a kid. They had a bad tornado come through there back in the mid-late 80s that destroyed their cabin and several more. We’re from MS but AL will always have a special place in my heart for fishing as well. God Bless

Awesome trip/video! My recommendation for a future trip would be a Corpus Christi, TX trip. Speckled trout in Baffin Bay, Red Snapper in state waters, Bull Reds in the grass flats, and Flounder Gigging. Plus, great land based shark fishing down PINS (the first national seashore in America) with 64 miles of surf. Beach fishing with with no one around for miles.

Worked on the rigs back in 1976 to 1979 best three years ever fished rigs from mobile to south of port Arthur Texas some of the biggest fish ever, the porgy boats would trade shrimp for fuel for their generators with our tender boats, we always had the best surf and turf. Best guys I ever worked with except my military buddies. That life out there is hard but very rewarding.

Oh my gosh! Tuna on a popper! Looks as much fun as catching a 42lb Chinook salmon on a 9' mooching reel with no drag device. You slow the reel down with friction from your palm against the spool. They're called knuckle busters because when the fish goes on a run the tendency is to grab the handle but it's spinning so fast you'll crack your knuckle. Never reel until the spool stops spinning.

With all the hideous news coming out of Florida recently your videos shed a lot of light on why things are that way. It would appear that one of you had a wealthy relative in a previous generation, probably from NYC, who retired to a home (that came with a boat and a dock) in Florida. Then that relative passed away, leaving the Florida holdings to you two. But you two are smart, young, and hard-working. You turned that inheritance into a Regular Fishing Channel. A wonderful fishing channel. To be on the channel you have to regularly work out. And yes, we notice. And furthermore you talk with other Floridians and invite them into your home to cook, eat, and talk. Wonderful people. In this regard you are somewhat unlike most people who receive such a windfall, who spend their inheritance on drugs and stuff. You give the rest of us a look at what the value system of your neighbors is, and to America it isn't pretty. America was founded on a revolt against inherited entitlement. Florida runs on it.
