I’m a 57 year old woman and have never decorated for Halloween. We always have and still do carve pumpkins and because of growing up out in the middle of nowhere I didn’t trick or treat as a kid but my parents always took us to a Halloween carnival. My kids enjoyed costumes, trick or treating as well as carnivals, but I just never really decorated Thanks to you guys and your vids and your absolutely infectious excitement for all things Halloween I decorated my home for the first time ever for Halloween this year, nothing scary or gross just the cutie stuff. I love ALL things vintage so I managed to score some great finds and then created and painted the rest. The outside turned out so cute that people have stopped me at my mailbox to compliment the decorations. There was a note in my mailbox last week from a lady that owns a shop in town . It said, “spoke to you at your mailbox last week , I was telling you how much I loved the reclaimed wood ghosts you made. I own the Coastal Creations shop in town and was hoping i could hire you to make some for me.” She left her contact info as well. Long story longer🤣 I spoke with her . I made reclaimed wood and driftwood ghosts, pumpkins, scarecrows and witches brooms, all from wood I already had, She paid me way more than I expected up front and is giving me 30% of sales as well. They are easy to make and take little time to complete. Not only does she want more, as they are selling fast, she has already commissioned me to make Christmas projects😳😂🤣 All because of the joy you two have and it inspiring me to put up a few decorations. I love how God brings people into each others lives. The income from all this came at the perfect time. I won’t go into detail but my hubby and I had been praying and trusting the Lord regarding a big and unexpected financial need. You two were His beautiful answer to our prayers because like I said if not for you guys I never would have been inspired to decorate. Thanks guys😁🥰
We had many of those Xmas figures growing up my mom loved Xmas she had everything I don't know if you have heard of the artex paints my grandmother made the huge Santa face and sleigh and all the reindeers
Christmas things bring back so many memories. I have my parents first ornaments. They are shaped like an Asian lantern and is silver plastic with colored stripes.I also have a tree that my father bought for me as a child. It is made like a silver tree but it is green. I have mini Shiny Bites for it.
I have dyed a Halloween man blowmolds with apricot Rot synthetic dye. I could not find a true orange synthetic dye. It worked but is a much darker orange than originals. I boiled it lightly on my stove because the videos I watched to learn stated hot water was necessary. Good luck with yours I hope it turns out well. Please make a video or post pics of your masterpiece I would love to see it.
oh Laura.....you found some absolutely fantastic pieces!!..oh and btw..I LOVE these videos, please keep them coming...Ive learned so much from you two about blowmolds, rasbroes, gurlies....the list goes on and on!!...thank you so much for the time you put into these hauls and videos!!...you probably already know this but a soft toothbrush works really well to gently clean flocked pieces......and Holt Howard!!!....you were the one that sparked my interest in HH......those pieces are SO DARN ADORABLE!!!..I still only have one but am always on the lookout for more christmas ceramic ones......thank you for introducing me to that line....so whenever you talk about finding them, I get so excited!!!...hahahahahah...........have a great day!!!!!... :-D
I live in Ireland and we don't have good will charity shops,we have charity shops like st Vincent de Paul, sue Ryder and jack and Jill but they wouldn't have all the stuff you pick up,you pick up some nice things,I have just found your channel and I love watching you going shopping, keep up the good work thank you ❤❤❤❤
I actually prefer videos like today and 100% support the 2 hand grab over viewing the items ahead of time for us I hate seeing what you missed. Nice collection today!
That snowman couple noel set is to die for! You are so lucky that it was still there when you got into the sale and it is in great condition. That looked like a fun sale for you considering that you collect vintage Halloween and Christmas items. I was number 11 at a sale once that only let the first 10 people in at the very beginning. I almost cried, but you did very well even though you had 10 people in front of you. Thanks for sharing this fun haul!
The snow couple was a wonderful find and they are in very good conditions. Congratulations! My next goal is to get the salt and pepper Cloud Santa by Holt Howard.
The Gurley candles are amazing. I got excited when you showed the box of place-card holders and knew immediately what they were. I found one at a thrift store last year, just one lol. But I love it.
Love watching these videos! Also love learning about different makers and what is valuable. Have you ever found a table top Christmas tree blow mold? I’ve got a white plastic Christmas tree that is supposed to have a light but it’s missing. Looks like a ceramic tree, but it’s plastic. Can’t find any info online so I’m not sure if it’s new or vintage.
How do you know so much about all of the plastics and nostalgic holiday decorations? Is it something your Grandmother taught you about? Because otherwise how would you know that it was a good price when some were priced at $5 & $10? I would never have paid that price for those items. Now I know it's ok.
