You cannot defend our defense today 425 yards given up; not one forced punt; the 7 field goals were largely due to 7 Washington false starts, which forced them to kick; several conversions where it was 3rd and 10 or more; no turnovers. You are way off saying the defense is not to blame.

I put this loss completely on Daboll. Gano was playing through an injury and questionable all week, yet had no backup kicker. Three touchdown's, should have been three points. Also, Darius Slayton dropped that 2 point conversion. A drive ended that would have been three. That last drive wouldn't have needed to put Nabers in that situation if Gano was healthy. I think they would have had 9 more points than they finished with. Granted, the D couldn't do anything to stop them from outside the redzone. Singletary had a big fumble. Multiple brutal, drive ending drops were a killer. It wasn't a perfect game, but the offense absolutely did enough outside of not having the option to kick. But no kicker also influenced how the Commanders ran their offense. They knew it was touchdown or nothing once Gano was out and Gillan missed that extra point. This was a true heart breaker, considering the Giants should have had 28. Jones would have had 200 plus if there wasn't any drops and possibly another throwing touchdown in the last drive.

One of the few times I disagree with a take from Anthony. This defense was great in the red zone but was not good overall. Washington didn’t punt a single time all day. Could not stop a third down regardless of distance unless it was in the redzone.

Bullshit defensive holding call on Dru Phillips that possibly cost us the game as well. Sure other shit happened, specifically, the defense giving up like maybe five 3rd and long conversions. Slayton missing the 2 point conversion, Nabers dropping the 4th and 4 conversion. I'll excuse Nabers because he's a rookie and he had a great game. Singletary had a fumble, but he a good game too for the most part. But that fucking call on Phillips was nonsense. That play would've been a sack and a punt. Instead, it's a fresh set of downs that led to a field goal. This game was such a fucking cringy loss. We can chill on the Danny shit, he played fine and didn't lose us the game, on the contrary, he put us in a position to win. But Slayton with the drop and Nabers with the drop hurt. And I'm glad to see Danny aired it out. One just missed Nabers fingertips, the other few were pretty overthrown.

Agree with most takes, but Anthony your mostly wrong about the defense dude. Your right, the red zone defense was fine today, the big reason why they were so good in the red zone was because Washington kept shooting themselves in the foot, they should’ve left with more touchdowns. While defense was mostly bend no break today, they bent a lot more than they should’ve and it was costly, we gave up a ton of third and longs and opportunities to get off the field. Shane Bowen did not call a good game today. Brian burns is on my shit list right now, so much money TO DO NOTHING!!! I really don’t want to do another rebuild 😭😭😭

Can’t lie. It is pretty annoying that you guys won’t say a SINGLE positive thing about Daniel Jones. He did not play a perfect game, but he played well and, more importantly, HE PUT THE GIANTS IN A POSITION TO WIN. Slayton and Nabers had 2 huge drops that really decided the game. That being said, Washington got beat up last week vs a playoff team(Tampa). When we play playoff caliber teams we are going to get beat up on. Our secondary couldn’t make a stop or tackle on 3rd down and that killed the clock and the momentum.

That was the worst defense I jave ever seen. They didn't do anything right. A rookie qb went 11/11 no pressure. 210 passing and allowed 215 yards rushing. They gave up 425 yards. Thats horrendous

This isn’t on the offense or the head coach this time. I do think the defense played hard and had some bullshit penalties but they should be getting more stops than this. Anthony saying the defense is alright was baffling to me. Do you seriously think any better teams wouldn’t have been able to score touchdowns against us while we were defending in the red zone? Most teams would’ve at least scored two or three touchdowns against us in those scenarios. 200+ rushing yards allowed will always result in a loss. I’m beyond disappointed in this regime. What player in their right mind is going to want to play for the giants once we clean house again and start over. Edit: We deserve better as fans, we really do.

Thought we looked solid today, watching the tape back I don’t see how drew lock does any better, still lots to learn but the trajectory of this team currently is going up, remember the Giants have started 0-2 and won a Super Bowl, 15 games left give them more time, new defensive scheme takes time to learn and new offensive play caller and play makers takes time to settle in, these rookies are playing incredible and getting better every week, I can see us either losing and going down the hole or going on a long win streak, time will tell where this team goes but I saw a lot today that gives me hope for this season and the future with the young guns on this roster

Ok anthony your Daboll Hatred is bleeding through your analysis. The defense was horrible today. Bend don't break and we kept them out of the end zone? Most of that was because of Washington penalties shooting themselves in the foot. 7 Field goals, not one forced punt and almost 40 minutes time of possession. 215 yards rushing for a DC who was supposedly hired because of his ability to stop the run. When your rookie nickel is leading in tackles because the D line can't get anything done that is poor play. 7 of 14 on 3rd downs but the 7 they didn't convert were the field goals. So where is the quality play. As for the offense and Jones being OK, he was at best a back up that had a week to prepare to start. As you said his whole game was Nabors YAC. How many times did we see him overthrow and throw into coverage when you can literally see the other receiver open in the reads. There was much more meat on the bone that Jones left for the offense. I agree the kicker bull was sheer stupidity, and what the deal is with the roster and call ups between Daboll and Joe is and if it has to do with the cap or not.

The team is going to be 2-6 to 0-8 by week 8. These are the games we normally win that give us the 5-7 draft pick instead of 1-3. Season was a wash before week 1 even started. That's a fact

No having an available kicker is inexcusable. They barely played well enough to win, but it was the difference. Daniel Jones still cannot hit a target on a screen, it's ridiculous.

Daboll is now strongly looking at 0-6. If achieved with similar inept mistakes like not carrying a second kicker predisposed groin problem Daboll should be fired. His body language shows he cannot organize our Giants to win games. DJ proves every week he is not a NFL Qb. DJ doesn't place the ball consistently within the catching radius of his WR and RB's. I thought our Giants would end up 5-12. I cannot see that mark. I feel if they start off 0-6, they will digress to 1-16 or 2-15.

Going into the season knowing jones was our QB AGAIN was demoralizing, I’m sure coaches and players kind of feel like the season was over before it even started.

We are on our way to 0-17 and the first pick in the 2025 Draft. Tank. Keep losing.

Here are my takeaways: 1. The playcalling was mediocre and predictable. I was correctly predicting plays all game. 1b. Why isn’t Hyatt taking more snaps? He could literally stretch the field which opens up runs or short slants to Nabers or whoever is open. 2. Our d line is underwhelming because the line is being subbed and players are moving every down. We rarely saw Thibs, Burns, and Dexter lined up together. They need more snaps together. 2b. Simmons needs more snaps that’s it. He’s basically a special teams player when he could be an impact player. 3. I don’t think Shoen should leave if there’s a hot seat. For what it’s worth he has the roster in a solid place. Our coaches are underutilizing players and play-calling on both sides of the ball needs to improve. 4. Nabers is a stud, feed him the ball.

You guys give Daniel jones some props, yes, he wasn’t Mahomes today, but he played mistake free football and he got the ball to a superstar. That’s what you want. It’s like all of a sudden we’re turning the giants having a true number one receiver into a problem. it’s the defense. They couldn’t get off the field man it was terrible. Remember in 22 when DJ was confident? that year he had no receivers nobody, yes, he threw 15 touchdowns. He also threw five pics, and we also went to the second round of the playoffs. After last year, I’ll take that. There’s no way those numbers are that low again with nabors. We’re on the right track. Defense and coaching. Everything that happened today can be attributed to those two things. we should’ve won 30 to 21, or 27-21.

You guys heard me saying all last season how Daboll has to step his game up. He's been overrated since starting 7-2. Now, Daboll is exposed as being a plain ole bad coach. At what point do we stop thinking we should have won this game? The team that loses to the giants should be saying that they should have won this game.

This always happens over the past 8 years, giants fell to 0-1 in the division. And most of the losses came against the cowboys (6 losses). We're talking about the division opener, this is the second time in 4 years we played against commanders in NFC East opener, all losses.

Defense was good???? The commanders were never stopped on 3rd down. They were 100% on 3rd down conversions and 0 punts…..

Definitely a learning curve for a HC... Daboll better learn from this and not make another personnel mistake like this, this L is on him.

Tbh I kinda disagree about kayvon being a ghost this game. They were getting the ball out very quickly so the pass rush never really got there but when they did drop back kayvon was getting to the qb. He still threw it quick anyway but kayvon was doing good. Burns on the other hand not so much. Kayvon though was getting around his guy a lot they just threw it so fast every play. He might have combined for a few sacks. They had sacks taken away from a hold at the start of the 4th as well. I kayvon was feasting this oline this game. Would’ve had a sack if not for the hold

Loss is on dabol for not having a backup plan at kicker. Chiefs kicker went down before and they had another player on the roster who can kick. You should have a backup plan when gano has been dealing with injury already. Somebody else who has kicked before should be in roster.
