I have to say from a technical point that your editing skills are nothing short of professional commercial quality (that's a compliment!). I spent just short of 20 yrs working in broadcasting in Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary before moving on to other ventures and the shots combined with the storytelling and even the addition of music on your videos is top notch!! I actually looked at a place in Machin a few years back, maybe it's time to change the scenery from the prairies to the shield? Tight lines, guys and keep your amazing videos coming!!

Crazy video! I've never looked at fishing this lake, I live 1.5 hour drive away! I did my part to support a local guide this year, going muskie fishing with Ben Beattie on Lac Suel in September. I've never hired a guide in NW Ontario, but this year is different. Gotta show some support.

Awesome Vid Jay! I follow and watch some of our other friends with 1M+ subscribers and always interesting to compare the differences. Even follow Taro which I’ve fished a few times. Definitely gotta say your video editing, cinematography, and narration is at a entirely another level compared to the 1+M subs. On par with paid programming I’ve watched like my fav old show “Departures”. You really take us on the journey with nice scenic vantage points of it. Not simply going out to fish. Keep it up, I’m sure you’ll be hitting 1M. Definitely more deserving than others I’ve seen! Can’t wait for your next vids and journeys!

Anybody noticed how slick Jays cast really was when getting the muskie on. Jay totally does a One hander drop the trolling motor, beat his girl for the first cast, get the first Muskie that could have potentially been hers... lol ... Great video. My trip to the Weather Station got pushed to next year thanks to covid. What were you using for the lakers? Only lake trout I've ever caught came off a bucktail, in 18 FOW, in July, on the lower Manitou.

I cant believe you still use a uni to uni knot to attach your leader. That is not a good knot. The Crazy Alberto knot is faster and easier to tie and at least 40 % stronger, I also can't understand why you would fish for Walleye and let them go. the only reason to fish for walleys is if you want to eat them because they have all the fight of an old boot sock. I would be chasing Pike and Muskies 100% of the time if I was able to go to a spot like that.

i look at all of those walleye and my mouth waters uncontrollably. walleye is one of the best tasting foods in the cosmos. take some of them and EAT them...otherwise they'll overpopulate and you'll be stuck with a bunch of smaller fish...

here's the question. when i was growing up, the poundage, rather than length, was the important thing. it indicated the health of the fish- a fat fish is a healthy fish, a skinny fish, even if it's long, isn't all that...what changed???

What a beautiful place. I just found your channel a few days ago. Subbed right away. Your knowledge and ability to get to the point, Sam's ability and infectious smile coupled with fantastic film making make yours the best fishing channel I've seen by far.
