Since I keep getting comments about it, I should clarify that I know that anacondas are found in South America. But I felt like I should mention it in the video. Especially since the anaconda is the species most often mentioned in comparison to the Congo Snake, as it is the biggest known species of snake.
I believe that there are many different types of creatures of large size that have yet to be found. If it is God s will that they be found, they will be found.
I actually think we have a version of something like an anaconda especially in Zimbabwe. There is the legend of the snake called 6 to 6. The name was on belief the snake would take 6 to 6 to cross a path a road. Obviously an exaggeration but still We got a family farm of 810 hectares and there is a part we never go to. One day I gathered courage with my two brothers and we had rifles and dogs with us and crawled over the kopjes in that area. On one rock there were literally 8 massive pythons sunning themselves. The size of them 😢😮 I nearly fainted literally. Two workers died of black mamba bites in 2019 within 2 months😢 I've bought two different drones to fly over the kopjes and literally one the Husban h501s flew away never to be seen again and the other just fell out of the sky for no reason. The place is very eerie and has rock paintings certified to be 10 000 years old and old clay pots and stuff left by our ancestors and farm workers and elders say it's haunted but that's a story for another day😢 Africa is a scary place and moreso for me as I have been living between Europe and Africa and have now lost part of my Africanness lol
There's a reason why there is no anaconda in Africa... even the giant python species cannot grow as big in the wild, there is a reason...@@maeton-gaming
Interesting fact about that 100 ft snake in the congo.....Those objects around it are termite mounds, which typically are 10-15 ft. Making the estimate of 150-195 ft to be accurate. Many don't realize just how big the swamplands and marshes of the Congo and surrounding area's truly are. Its roughly an area bigger than all the United States largely unexplored. Theres no telling what could be creeping around back in there. And the few who have formed teams and tried just don't come back. Either from weird diseases, poisonous wildlife, hostile tribes, or who knows what else. And the reason large beasts could exist in such a place and not in the rest of the world is simple. Mankind tends to eliminate threats en mass as more and more places become inhabited. Much in the way most large predators are gone from the inhabited areas of the world, a place that hasnt been taken fully would still be as its always been. Survival of the biggest and meanest.
@@jmferr2011 They're both arthropods, so the biological limitations should be fairly similar. I'm not sure how a spider's book lungs compare with a coconut crab's branchiostegal lungs, but they're both better than the spiracles used by insects.
Big Rhino thing: huh, that's neat T-Rex/monitorl lizard: that's wild! Titanoboa's oversized nephew: Whew, wouldn't want to be there! Giant g** d*** spiders: Burn it! Burn it all. No, not just that rainforest. The entire planet. That mission to Mars isn't ready?...Ok, can I bum a ride to the moon? Later today?
Can't wait to go to Congo when I'm next home in Zimbabwe My two cousins are long distance truck drivers and they drive from Congo to Richards Bay, South Africa and sometimes they are on the road for two weeks straight sleeping and cooking in their ribs. They carry 30-40 tonnes of copper and other valuable ore and stuff Boy they got stories for all day long on their drives especially at night when driving and passing through vast forests on deserted roads and seeing weird shit they can't explain
Heard some spider sighting are near bodies of water, so kinda makes me wonder if we are dealing with some kind of Crustacean, like some sort of African version of a Coconut Crab
Maybe, but from what I was hearing on the Paranormal Round Table in the conga, they can get really big as a Volkswagen Beetle car. It was in one of Mr. Josh's old episodes.
@@albaestrada8603which makes no sense since all known large spider species dont really use webs, except for the darwin back spiders, if those spiders are that big then it kinda defeats the purpose of making webs since most animals outside of insects and perchance small birds arent dumb enough to get caught in a web, those spiders would be big enough to have to compete with other large predators who are more efficient, large arachnids are extremely slow and dont have the capacity to hunt most mammals larger than a mouse
There's nothing more creepier than well, creepy crawlies like giant spiders and snakes possibly lurking about. You definitely don't want to run into those late at night anywhere. The Belgian Colonel's encounter and pic is quite something all right.
The Kasai Rex is by far my favorite cryptid, and the fact that the original picture shows it to be a giant monitor Lizard or Komodo Dragon makes it all the more believable to me, or at least more believable compared to the rest of cryptids of the "living dinosaur" variety. Also the fact that it can take down such powerful animals like Rhinos and Elephants makes me wonder if it perhaps has some kind of venomous saliva like actual Komodo Dragons.
Except dinos dont look like reptiles, theyre birds, a giant monitor lizard, no matter how big wouldnt be able to attack elephants or rhinos lol, it's just another fanfic of some rich european who wanted some fame and stories to tell his buddies back home.
I seen a documentary on Mokele Mbembe that they were showing the tribe pictures of dinosaurs and they tribe confirmed thats what they seen in the area . Thanks for showing original photos as well.
they lie on purpose cause theyre basically desperate tourists the mokele mbembe has been proven to be fake with most supporters just psuedo scientests who claim it as evidence that the world is 6000 years old.
I had to log in to say I really enjoy your videos. You have a very nice voice for story telling, I love the back stories, and this is very easy to watch. Others that try doing this flash the pictures so quickly its almost nauseating. Thank you for telling these stories. This also helps support stories from soldiers that reported seeing giant reptiles.
In the 1970's There were sightings of a creature resembling a bear. It was said there were several attacks on the villages. It was said it was as big as a bear and howled. It was called the Nandi bear. It could have been a decedent of the prehistoric bear dogs. There are currently sightings of a Bigfoot type creature in South Africa called the Raka. There are even ancient rock paintings of creatures also resembling the Bigfoot type creature's.
I enjoyed your video a lot, and I especially appreciated the narration and the use of original photographs, quotations, etc. The more authenticity the better, I believe. Only one thing seemed a bit inaccurate to me, and that was the fact that anacondas and boas are only found in central and south America, not in Africa. It's a small point, but I thought you might want to know for future projects. Pythons are in Africa and Asia, and anacondas and boas are on the other side of the planet. What makes them different? I'm not sure. It's just something I was told. Best of luck with all your future videos, and thanks again! I can never resist clicking on a video featuring the Congolese giant spider!
Silmarillion mentions that Ungoliant, after she tried to snatch Silmarils from Morgoth, fled somewhere south from Beleriand. Now we know where she went.😳
A video came out recently of a dinner plate sized spider carrying a small possum. They could get a little bigger, but to be giant, it would need an entirely different physiology to process oxygen efficiently to support that size. In other words, lungs.
Dinosaurs that were water bound is possible. The extinction event would have affected ocean dwellers but there still would be a small chance with evolution at hand. I saw a documentary on leaf cutter ants and they were directly affected by a event that destroyed their source of food and evolved to cultivate fungi. There are recent discoveries on evolution taking place quicker than what was expected.
Sorry but evolution is a hoax. Numerous ancient civilizations reference seeing, killing or being eaten by dragons. The word ''dinosauria'' was coined in 1842 by Sir Richard Owen. Before that, they were called dragons. Unfossilized dino bones have been found, sometimes with intact red blood cells in the marrow. That would be impossible if they were ''65 MILLION years old''. Marco Polo described seeing dragons in 13th century China and how they hunted them. The one he describes sounds like a T Rex.
People who live there: "yeah we've been seeing these spiders for generations. They're huge and deadly. "Experts" who don't live there: Nah fam that's impossible...
Brilliant video i enjoyed that even if i dont like giant spiders I believe they could exist in the jungles of the congo and other reptiles insects its massive and alot of it is unexplored
Here in Tucson there are female spidders that get as big a cat just before they die... they do move slower when biger, but still fast enough to catch small animals... aka not so slow... they also appear larger due to carring their young on their back.😅
Oh hell yeah. Just glanced through your channel after this recommendation and can tell I’m gonna be following you for a long time… great stuff. I love paranormal content as I sink into my sheets at night
Look at all the unexplored places on earth. Then add in the fact that scientists have declared so many species as extinct only to be completely wrong when they miraculously stumbled upon them as the years went by. Always keep an open mind. This planet is still full of mysteries.
Great video! I definitely think giant spiders are out there. Bill gibbons looked for them in peru, soon later, a giant black tarantula was filmed dragging a possum. No one saw them before cuz it was out at night.also, i believe that dude in the chopper wasnt lying about snake. Remember, real life is crazier and more fantastic than any b.s. humans could imagine.
How long did it take to get such a good pronunciation of Mokele-Mbembe? 😉 Even though I highly doubt the existence of dinosaurs today (except for it’s closest relatives; birds) it’s remarkable that that stories like this even exist considering there are at least 64 million years between the mass extinction of dinosaurs and the evolution of mankind. One have to wonder how these stories came about. A possible explanation is that fossils, particularly heads, was found, not only in the Kongo but all over the world, and is the origin of tales of dragons and living dinosaurs. Then again, who knows. The Coelacanths were considered extinct 66 million years ago until they caught one outside the coast of South Africa in 1938. Admittedly there’s a huge difference between a fish and actual living dinosaurs (because there have to be quite a few for the idea to work), but under the right conditions in a remote location…who knows.
@legionmint7091, One other thing about the legend of a dinosaur in the Congo, it’s presumed that the “myth” has existed for a long time in the lore of a tribe and actually was present when western civilization arrived. And not only in one tribe but multiple tribes, and the hypothesis that they might have generated their so called myths from finding the heads/skulls of 65 million year old lizards lying around seems to be far fetched to say the least in a hot, humid and wet tropical zone. Not exactly the conditions to preserve biological material for the long haul. I suppose that a landslide killing multiple types of terrestrial and even marine dinosaurs 🦖 65 million years ago would have been possible only to have eroded and exposed the large skeletal remains which could have served as the basis of the “myth”. But, it seems to me that should that have happened, those skulls would have been great trophies and either resided within the chief’s lodge, the shaman’s lodge or the communal structure as a representation of prestige and power for the tribe and have been highly prized and protected. But, I could be incorrect in assuming that the tropics is one of the worst environments for the preservation of fossils. If I am correct though, how is it that multiple Tribes were able to 1. Draw the same image of the dinosaur 🦕 and also pick the same image from a book of pictures of dinosaurs? The old professor Live free or die!!! Death ☠️ to all tyrants, all tyrants foreign and domestic!!! Pedophiles too!!! No Shit………….
@@clanrobertson7200 First off it’s a logical fallacy to assume that the landscape and climate always have been the same in what is now jungle, because it hasn’t. It has changed dramatically many times in the odd 65 million years since the dinosaurs died out. Secondly, fossils can indeed be conserved in what is now rainforest. Off hand I can think of a 110 million year old dinosaur that was found in northern Brazil in the mid 2000, which is roughly on the same latitude as present day Kongo. Thirdly, as far as I know there was one tribe that drew the image and later, allegedly, picked one out in a book. Not multiple tribes. It’s rumored that they gave vaguely similar descriptions, but that we don’t know. Furthermore, it’s quite possible that similar myths can be entertained by several tribes since they often trade and interact to avoid inbreeding. They may even have been one tribe originally that divided into splinter groups, or many different constellations due to war over the thousands, or even millions, of years they’ve been there. Giant aggressive dinosaurs was obviously an instant hit, campfire myth wise. Perhaps to discourage children to wonder off. Fourthly, for all we know a skull could have been found in a remote and short of inaccessible location to which people had to travel, and perhaps even to worship. On the other hand the beast’s head could have been regarded as a bad omen due to the contemporary religious beliefs and was reburied. But the myth carried on. We simply don’t know, however the possible theories are legio. Lastly, dinosaurs aren’t lizards. While they share a reptilian ancestry that goes back millions of years, lizards and dinosaurs went on to follow separate paths of development.
Dinos/dragons still exist today, just mostly in the oceans and in remote areas where they are rarely seen, like the Congo and Papua New Guinea. Birds are not related to dinosaurs and evolution is a hoax. Nearly all ancient civilizations describe dragons, either being eaten by them, killing them or seeing them. Mokele Mbembe is only one living dino. Kongamato is a pterodon type as is the Ropen. They've been seen from the US SW to Cuba to Papua New Guinea. And large sea dragons are seen at sea many times. The coelacanth was once considered man's ancestor but since being found alive and well in the Indian Ocean, thankfully, that silliness was discarded.
@@Legionmint7091 65 MILLION years is the fallacy. The whole world was tropical at one time until the Flood changed the whole world and sure enough, they've found tropical plants under the ice in Antarctica. Most of the many fossils we see were buried catastrophically in the Flood. That's why we find large fossilbeds of organisms buried together that didn't live in the same environments. It happened so fast that one fossil is of a larger fish swallowing a smaller fish when they were buried.
@@NorrinRadd0151 Sorry, I think you have me confused for someone who is interested in your fundamentalist religious Bronze Age myths. I’m discussing scientific facts here.
Great creepy stories! Anacondas and Titanoboa are from the Americas though, so if anything it would make more sense if the giant snake were a relative of Pythons. As for the eight-legged freak, I think it's better that it remain a story and nothing more.
Fun fact with so many rumors legends and mysteries surrounding the Amazon they Amazon and the Congo rainforests were one attached before tectonic shifts broke them up. It makes sense they both have equally interesting stories and legends.
There are giants in the USA. In populated areas. I was in a public toilet and saw a turd in there the size of a loaf of bread. My kid and myself ran out of there quickly and very afraid. I'm a believer.
I just looked at the map and congo is almost completely wild and undeveloped It's almost a million square miles too, it's about 2.5 times bigger than Texas
Annacondas and Boas live in South America ( large Boas anyways Old World Boas are really small in comparison like sand Boas) doubt he saw one in the Congo. I had a room mate years ago that had a couple of Rock Pythons ( me and him both had several snakes). They get pretty large and do not have the best tempers. These were about 2 - 3 years old and were already 10-12 feet. I have seen one that was around 25-28 feet and that was pretty damn massive. I could see one getting abnormally large ( I dont know about 50 foot thought ) but I would not want to come in contact with one that large being bad tempered as they are.
Wow Pinnso! You've outdone yourself. Stupendous! I believe these creatures exist due to their environment. "Everything's bigger in Texas!" I thought that was bravado till i went to West Texas in 1998 and saw 2 inch fireflies, 10 in' millipedes and pecans the size golf balls. These are just a few examples. Thanks for all you do. Lvya much
that giant spider photo is actually pretty believable. if you compare the photo of that spider with the region today, you'll see that this spider must have been really, really huge... as long as the photo itself isn't hoaxed
The video is good but if you want to grow you need to adjust your voice. At the moment it’s too soft and slow. Almost like you’re whispering, which is a bit uncomfortable. But everything else is great.
My life dream is exploring these uncharted jungles in search of lost species. Everyday I think about it, my whole life is based on this. I must and I will go there, preferably on an expedition team.
The "giant Congo spider" would suffocate in our normal 21% oxygen atmosphere. The largest know viable arthropod is the coconut crab, about 1 ft wide including its legs ;)
There are no anacondas in Africa, come on now! Anacondas are native to South America, particularly in the Amazon rain forest. I am surprised that the supposed giant snake in the old picture is taken seriously by anyone...it looks super fake to me! This video did not mention the Mahamba (50 foot long crocodile), that is also mentioned as a cryptid of the Congo. The Emela Ntouka (stands for "Elephant killer") is also not mentioned. This is one of the most commonly mentioned cryptids, a one-horned rhino-like beast (but much bigger than a rhino). Also, there is the Kongamato (boat breaker), which is a pterosaur-like winged dinosaur that lives in a very remote and swampy region of the Congo, and it is very aggressive and extremely dangerous. One has to be very naive to think that the powers that be, who control the establishment, would ever allow the news of the discovery of living dinosaurs. That will NEVER be allowed, because it would completely shatter the whole evolution theory agenda control apparatus like a collapsing deck of cards!
Some of these giants, if real at all, might have become extinct due to various conflicts in the region. Either from being gunned down or from their regular prey being driven off by the fighting. Both Kasai and Katanga were particularly badly hit by warfare in the 1960's.
An anaconda in the Congo? I though these snakes where only found in the South American Amazon. Maybe some other sort of constrictor native to the Congo rainforests?
6:00 man.. how could anybody shoot an elephant? I could never do it. They're far too smart and deeply emotional creatures. How does one look into the eyes of these magnificent beasts and not feel like they're seeing into the animal's soul? I dunno.. I just feel as tho elephants are far too intelligent and emotional to be hunted, at least, hunted by someone strictly seeking a trophy and not someone looking to feed their entire tribe. Edit: AND HOW COULD SOMEONE SHOOT A DAMN DINOSAUR?!?!?! It's a shame knowing that this story is 100% likely as someone WOULD do this if they saw a freaking dinosaur... such a shame, man... such a shame...
A study by Libbyston University in Sweden found that the locals are known to consume large amounts of a drink called Um Bongo, which can cause hallucinations and could account for this.
The problem is human beings think they know everything.... What if it had a different respiratory system? What if it had a different exoskeleton or no exoskeleton?
I do believe these creatures were jumbo sized. But since they couldn't find mates due to their size they sadly died off. Could their be a similar sized goliath unaccounted for? Certainly but not as there was.
