The Lowmein I bought mine in 1980. My teacher sold me his for a fraction of what it was worth at the time. He wanted me to have it because he was getting older, and he wanted me to carry on the tradition with it. Every time I pick it up I think about him.

Actually it is very comfortable to play. I own one. You just kick it out at a slight angle.

Very uncomfortable actually. And you need a wheel barrow to carry it around. If you’re very tall might be ok. Byrdland makes a lot more sense imo.

The Super 400 is wider with an 18" lower bout (Compared to the L5's 17"), and it has next level cosmetic trim regarding the binding and inlays etc

If your chops are sufficiently good that you have the professional income to afford this guitar, then likely you are sufficiently capable to bring it to basically ANY party, style-wise.

Clapton's "Reptile" instrumental is played on an L5 as well as his covers of, "Blues Before Sunrise" and "It Hurts Me Too".

Hello, what you see is a glow. Never, ever comes a jazz gibson guirarra two. I have had many 175, L4, and now my guitar is a Wes. Factory only come with one. You can make a Gibson SG sound like a telecaster, so I’d assume that they’re just making them all sound the same

@@whenwhen2284 You're not too far wrong!...Get the right amp...Use your tone controls on guitar and amp...And you can make most...that have the same pickups...sound the same...The HUGE pirce difference...is ...a lot, status... Meanwhile..I have, for instance, two Chinese made 335's that can sound EXACTLY like the $2K Gibons 335 I also had...but sold. The Chinese guitars were $250 each..Nice build quallity...sounded the same as the Gibson...so, I sold the Gibson...for $1600... Somme guitars are junk, yes...but if you' know what you're doing..know what to look for...etc... and don't care about 'status'...you don't need to spend all that money.. .PLAYING...is what's important.

I'm saving up the funds to own the Super 400 along with two GB Twin Reverb amps and perform my original Gospel Pop Music with Double Bassists, Celloists and Violinists performing my arrangements! Oh what fun we'll have recording and entertaining audiences!

If you ever see what talent, skill, pride and craftsmanship, you will know why Jazz boxes such as these command such high prices. You want to buy a Hyundai or a Mercedes.???
