I bought one of these from you guys when you first got them in about three weeks ago. It is fantastic. The shorter scale length makes it so much more comfortable than a typical Dread for me. The neck size is fine, no issues with it at all and I have smallish hands. Thanks to Tyler for his help on this purchase!

I love my 2013 J-35 and despite having other choices including a J-45, the 35 is always my #1 guitar. Great instruments that can really growl.

I am a huge Gibson fan! I noticed right away that the low E and A strings on the J35 have a little more "jangle" to them. I don't think it is better or worse, just different. Both the J35 and J45 are attractive to the eye. I think if push came to shove I would still pick the J45. It's just an all around winner to my ear. Warmer, bolder and classic!!! But the J35 wouldn't be a bad option either.

I think your correct in your assessment. The more open angle of the X brace on the top of the J-35 allows the top to vibrate that much more, effecting the bass response and brilliance of the guitar. I like them both as well.

Great guitar. I'm a small guitar fan generally, but this boom is so rich, balanced and sweet.

The vintage headstock script logo with tuners is a lot more attractive than the standard J-45.

The beefier J-35 neck improves the low end power too.

Quinten, this reddish tone is called mahogany I guess. Beside my love for not only Gibson guitars I live and work with Irish Red Setter dogs. That’s some mahogany right there. Very fine guitars and still I dig your playing.

I love Gibson acoustic guitars. I love Martin and Taylor too... Just love Gibson (especially J200s) a little bit more.

I like the J-35 more, it has a bluegrass kind of chugging tone, more guts. The natural colour with the fire stripe pick guard looks great in person.

Funny. I have an Epi Masterbilt AJ45ME in ebony. It reminds me more of a J35 voicing. Has the growl and the punchier midrange and treble of the J35. I am putting a white AJ pickguard on too, so it will be perfect.

If you like loud and brassy, then these Gibson "Dreds" are perfect but I prefer Martin's full size guitars that have less clang at the top and more woody D string resonance than these cannons. If you want to play a klaxon horn, you choose one of these...if you want a French Horn they can hear on the other side of the woods, then you go with the Martin. It's a style preference as individual as players are.

It doesn’t get more woody than a J45. Was a Martin fanboy for years but now my one and only is a j45. It won over hd28v, d18, ceo7, and d35.

@@richardlucascronley5128 Geeetar choice and what a player hears is so variable. As a builder of acoustics, I'm fascinated by the methods manufacturers use so guitars of a particular model sound so similar. About 80% of that is keeping design, shape, wood species and construction exactly the same but the remaining 20% is more like art. Brace design and scalloping affect sound more than anything else...at least to my ear.
