@Tiago_007
I played this guitar at the store and I was impressed by how light, resonant and nice it felt. I went home with a Gibson SG Standard in a beautiful silver color from the new line. That afternoon while playing the SG, I started remembering how good the Les Paul Lite felt. Next day I went back and returned the SG and walked away with the Pink Modern Lite. No regrets.
@brandonbryson3317
The tribute was better.
@joecoach7268
I think I would still rather have a Tribute model if I was considering a Budget Les Paul. Its not that much heavier, it costs less and you get the Vintage style tuners and trapezoid inlays. This one just looks cheap.
@Push-Pull
Honestly, they got the light bit right. Cosmetically it looks cheap though.
@ramencurry6672
Oh wow. This Gibson model is excellent. I’m impressed to the point that I would buy this over the more expensive ones. Love the simplicity.
@Impractical_Engineer
Can't wait for these to be on closeout for $800 because no one will buy them. Ill pickup the rose gold satin
@hootowl6354
A Strat is still more comfortable. Gibson lightened it, but they forgot to smooth off the edge under your right arm. IMO.
@ojabog
I played one the other day and it was great. The price was not. $1500 is way too high in my opinion.

Turn it up ya blouse! Stick it through an 100w Marshall like you know you must. We don't actually like the "no grain fill" on the wood. We like slick. What it means is the guitar will eventually stain and look road worn (or possibly worse), especially with sweat. On the neck we need satin. And we don't like SGs. But that won't stop us buying one (although you can't even get them in Australia at present and they're way, way, way overpriced even after the exchange rate).
@paulburton5150
I have a Les Paul Less + with coil split, a proper flame top and full binding which cost me the same as the Modern Lite, and a 2014 Melody Maker that, apart from P90s, is very similar to the Custom Lite but for half the price. Gibson pricing has gone nuts
@zolibxl
Thanks Dylan. If I didn't already have a thin-body Les Paul Less+ from 2015 next to my LP Standard, I would probably buy one of these today. You're right, a thinner body Les Paul is just a completely different beast.
@michaelheller8841
I haven't played one but I will check one out. I think it's a nice complement to be in line with a Junior or Special.
@nickrana7152
I have a question not really related to the video, how much does just having a volume knob with a humbucker? In stead of having a volume and a tone knob? I was planning on removing the tone knob from my explorer. Love the channel!!
@GhostDragon1182
These remind me of the LTD EC guitars and their thinner bodies. I had been thinking about a LP Studio but these Modern Lites have a lot more about them that I like over the Studio.
@PatrickGeneLeBlancHardy
Nice.. Thanks for sharing 🎸
@allanb1402
Great review! Thanks for posting. I think I'm going to try one of these. I never liked the feel of the LP body and the neck joint was too big for my little hands. Price is high, but so are all the other 'entry level' MiA guitars - Fender American Performers and PRS S2 satins are both 13 to 15 hundred USD, up from 999 a few years ago so Gibson is not out of the ballpark, the game just sucks now lol.
@robertblumenfeld824
I am happy this guitar exists. Looks like a lot of fun. I’d shoot for this over the epi greeny.
@Gunslinger320
When they make a metalic or pearl purple version i will buy one. Although the green one is very tempting
@shanewalton8888
This Gibson reminds me of the Studio I used to have, which I always felt was one of the better designed models. I have owned 3 Les Pauls, but they haven't stayed because, having been bought used at good deals, the temptation to flip them was too strong.
@garrettstiles7808
Damn: really want one of these but need a Rounded or 50s neck. Seems like a cool take on the LP Special concept, just can’t do the Gibby Slim Taper neck shape.
