I was really sad that tanzoo had to leave GG but I’m glad they picked you to replace him. Hadn’t seen your content before but I love these super analytical reviews. Cheers brother.
I originally thought Torvesta was smart for throwing but now I realize that the end result would’ve been the same. He risked his life and reputation for nothing. Props to V for putting things in perspective.
Strong points about the different approaches to "playing the middle" that you and Solo have taken. It feels like right now both approaches are providing similar reward, but yours is much less risky... guess we'll see how it plays out. Thanks for posting these reviews!
"Just as long as I don't get snaked by someone with a lot of information and a reason to want me out of the games" Oh man, this feels a lot like foreshadowing. snake mission finally showing his fangs next week?
I’m hoping that you’re getting the invite to join Solo’s alliance in next week’s episode. You, Solo, EV and one other person (my guess is Will) would be a powerful combo. Looking forward to the next.
I think that would be entertaining but unlikely as Solo can't control or trust V, so instead I believe it'll be someone easy to either beat or manipulate so I think Will is spot on but I honestly think the other will have to follow by these conditions in order of importance: 1. Doesn't have beef with Solo (torv & vort are out) 2. Doesn't have beef with EV (Framed, 8sat, Settled, tasty (maybe though I am not sure why he decided to double cross EV?) are out) 3. Is easy to convince/manipulate (boaty is out) 4. Is their first time in gg OR hasn't won a lot or scores medium/low in challenges Since I agree I think Will is one of them since he follows most of these guidelines (no beef, easy to convince, & hasn't won a challenge yet) that leaves either Faux or Zoe Now both have their strengths and weaknesses, and I will say I am not too familiar with Zoe, but I think after seeing everyone perform my choice would be Zoe since she follows most of the conditions and outed Tasty to EV showing she is loyal, trustworthy and her first time playing GG make her a pretty mad combo. Anyway just my thoughts.
Wow, your explanation and game strategy analysis/theory crafting are really something else. Definitely outperforming what the other players were assuming of you at the time. Thanks for the content!!
Fuck yea dude, these are so awesome! It's so interesting to see that you and solo read and played the situation similarly, like both of you went with the totem 8sat play to build trust with EV since Torv was going in no matter what! I think in regards to EV that was the right play, he seems to be a big talker but not really able to back it up and is severly lacking in information this far. But Solos split vote caused a lot of confusion so I think that he got away with the play a bit cleaner than you did as Framed seemed quite surprised and suspicious of your strategy! Also I think that until now you've stayed off Solos radar as fairly neutral, but that 8sat play showed him that you're also a social player capable of some snaking and I'm super hyped to see you two sparring going forward!
Bruh, between solo's analyses, and yours, and the actual excitement in the GGs, this whole season is more gripping than any show I have seen in quite some time lol. I eagerly await every episode. Keep making these man!
I think as a long term plan Torvesta's move was not that bad actually albeit a massive gamble. While it's true that he could have saved himself another week if his team won it would have meant that Framed would have gone against a weaker foe like Virtoso like you said which means he there would have been a greater odds of losing an alliance member and team America having a member with immunity. Instead Torvesta took the gamble and go into elimination with a solid elimination winning streak from last season. From a short term perspective it doesn't make sense because conventionally you would protect yourself over an alliance member that will likely just snake you in the later rounds anyway but saving yourself another week at the cost of an alliance member just means you're only putting yourself further back in line of the chopping block. Instead he took the risk for one week and got the best result possible. Eliminating an NA-sympathizer and getting immunity for himself.
Yeah I never understood Torvesta's logic in the episode. The other team having the majority of his alliance meant they could just vote in someone not from their alliance. This way I guess he could decide who he could go up against in the banning but that still seems like such an unnecessary risk. It turned out to be incredibly entertaining tho so I guess its fine but as Solo said I hope it doesnt become meta to throw (team) challenges.
11:55 EVScape wasn't talking about who voted for 8sat vs. torv, he meant like that the losing team would be picking one of their own to put in the banning. "if [Torvesta] knew he would go into the banning he wouldn't have". since obviously throwing makes you such a big target in that scenario, you're pretty much guaranteed to be voted in
Another well played challenge by you V and another week playing the alliances. Great video recap, interesting play happening all around. Do you think after your GG content is done you'll put out a new series or pick up on a previous one? Would love to see some new stuff from you after GG3... That way you can be EASILY invited back for GG4
Thanks! I started a new series that I'm hoping to start putting out before the end of the month, if not early next month. I'm not expecting to get a GG4 invite given all the great active creators out there, but that's the dream.
Oh man.. Victim's biggest problem is SoloMission. Sure, Framed and EV don't talk directly, but Solo's got a direct line to each. If the wrong information makes its way through that pipeline, things could get dicey.
Pretty good move by Torvesta because they rather have Torvesta vs someone they choose than Framed vs a strong enough member to not give him immunity next challenge. It was really close because of the rng banning but on average torvesta would have beaten skillspecs in most aspects of the game.
It's possible. Ultimately it comes down to perceived risk vs. reward. For what it's worth, EV himself (and maybe Torv too?) agreed with me in the bottom of the DM @ 11:50
@@VtheVictim about that "we didn't realize the voting was working that way" i reckon that what he meant was that they weren't aware the losing team would choose someone from their own seven to go into the banning, so not in allusion to the actual voting results. in this particular scenario the throw did all but guarantee a majority vote for torvesta, but that might not have been the case with a free for all vote, as torvesta/ev supposedly had anticipated. could be wrong but oh well not like it changes much in the end anyway.
@@eponym7783 "i reckon that what he meant was that they weren't aware the losing team would choose someone from their own seven to go into the banning" - what do you mean by this? The losing team has to choose someone from their own seven, there isn't anyone else to choose from.
When EV says he "didn't know the voting was going to work that way" he means the actual way the vote worked - if they had known just the losing team was voting then Torvesta wouldn't have thrown.
The way you said that ending sentence to this video makes me think someone snakes you in the next episode. Maybe Solo, who knows. But you said it with almost a smirk to your voice.
Hi V, can I give you a small tip? Have you noticed that your audio sometimes cuts out when you start a new sentence? I think it’s pretty annoying. It doesn’t happen when your in the middle of a sentence. Only at the beginning of a sentence after a pause. Do you use Premiere Pro? Chances are this only happens when you cut an audio clip. When you start the new clip, for some reason some audio is lost. I’ve had this happen to me too. What fixed it for me is to make sure there aren’t any parts in my video that have absolutely no audio. So even an audio element like white noise or something else really low volume would help and cause the audio to not cut out.
I haven't noticed, honestly. I rarely cut audio clips for these, so if it's happening, it's probably related to how my mic or OBS is picking up sound. I'll take a look - thanks for the mention.
Thanks for pointing this out. I finally found the source to be a default noise filter in OBS whose attack time would cut the beginning of lots of clips where there wasn't anything else going on that was loud enough to trigger it. Should be able to get intact audio for future recordings.
I get the feeling that boaty, will, solo, and Ev will be in an alliance next week since Solo said he would be forming an alliance of 4, Victim seemingly not being a part of it, and Ev mentioning that no one is solo
I think the only solution for throwing is that alliances should be required to report to soup in secret so that he can balance teams accordingly. I don't think it should be banned but I think some thought should go into it. He could even split them 50/50 so throwing is nearly pointless. Half of an alliance gets screwed no matter what if someone throws and that's pretty risky and dickheaded to do if you're in an "alliance".
i'm actually surprised you voted for 8sat, you had enough evidence to put doubt on solomission, so you could have easily voted for torvesta and laid blame on solomission.
EVscape claims to have an alliance that is going to make a surprise appearance together but it hasn't been revealed to us yet. Here is my guess: Solo EVscape V Faux I feel like he wants all the NA alliance players out, that's why none are listed. B0aty would be a great addition but I think B0aty doesn't give a f about politics so he's out. Out of the remaining players, I think these four are the strongest ASIDE FROM Torvesta. I think EVscape wants Torvesta out because he is an uncontrollable threat and couldn't be in an alliance with solo. Just my thoughts on all the fun drama LOL
Victim please boost you audio by maybe 15-20% for the next one your videos are always a little quiet, i can turn you down but i cant turn you up any higher
I think when he switched, EVs side was looking a little sketchy and/or he just second guessed his role/value on that side? Like maybe thought he was low on the totem poll of the EV side and could be thrown in banning by that side. I think he switched during the Castle wars episode. Ill have to go back and watch that review to see if I can get an idea for his motivations.
@@zachberlyn6346 I remember him saying when Sinferna with out that they both were going to be “agents of chaos” but Zoey never went against EV’s alliance. Not sure what is driving Tasty to make the decisions he is
@@lakerfaker277 My guess is they thought by putting one vote on each side they would cause chaos/confusion? Kind of like Solo's split votes (except in this case it didn't work - EV basically figured it out and Zoe sells out Tasty to make sure she stays on EVs good side).
Its simple, Torvesta thought they had the votes. If you look the previously episode Torvesta was sure that the intimidation coming from Evscape against Skillspecs was working and they thought Tasty would vote with them. So it was either a 5v2 or a 4v3 vote in favour of them BUT they overstimated their control over ppl and didn't count Skillspecs hatred towards Torvesta lmao.
Any rational emotional person in the losing team without an alliance would vote Torvesta because it made sense (the reason why you lost and stood a chance to get banned)
@@MightAngel Rational emotional? Its one or the other. Ignoring that...Like I said, Evscape and Torvesta thought they had the votes, the end scenario would have been 8sat vs Settled. Also like V said on this video, it was in their best interess to vote how Evscape told and gain favour with him since he has the bigger alliance. If you are a rational person you would have seen that you may be in the losing team but you were in the winning alliance.
@@midianet2 voting Torv would be rational because he made players of the losing team a chance to be banned (the people who could vote). Emotionally, you would defo be pissed and therefore vote him. And in addition, it applies to people unallied. Not in a strategic sense.
Voting 8sat was a ballsy fucking move, I’m a bit worried about how Settled was talking about it because he seemed really convinced you aren’t solid Edit: however much I hate to admit it, it’s looking more and more likely you’ll have to throw the NA alliance off and stick to EV. Not the outcome I’m hoping for at all, but with the way things are going…
As fun as the banning was to watch, it was too rng based. Same kinda goes for the Brimhaven agility. While a lot of people liked it, I wasn’t a fan of the banning challenge at all. I think bannings should be more about skill and game knowledge rather than all rng. Skill specs deserved better
I agree that heavy RNG can be unsatisfying, but I also think having (partially) RNG-based bannings in the Games is important. A really good all-around player wouldn't have to worry about going into the banning if it were always 100% skill-based - completely negating the importance of playing the social side of the competition - and the majority of banning matchups' outcomes would be easily predictable. I think skill-only bannings would make for a "fairer" competition but a lot less entertaining show, which ultimately is the main goal of a reality format like GG uses. In the case of the Brimhaven agility banning, C Engineer missed some chances to snare and/or spear Faux out of getting a ticket during the tiebreaker. In this current episode's banning, Skill Specs played part of the second fight riskier than he should have and died for it. RNG was definitely involved in both bannings, but maybe not as much as it appeared.
@@VtheVictim Agreed! However, I do think Skillspec's decision to hit instead of eat wasn't all tooooo terrible. Torvesta would have been fairly lucky to KO him there (which he did). If he ate to 66/67/68 and then got hit another big hit, he'd be in the same position, but eating once more.
you knew it would be 4-3 but you got two people wrong and downplay that as not mattering but clearly does considering it was solo mission and tasty which you have tasty on the wrong side and claim him as loyal to EV scapes side, think you are over estimating your own ability to read tbh
Well, you have to remember that this is based on my perspective at the time. The voting went how I wanted it to, Framed vouched for Solo, and I had confirmed Tasty voted with EV/Torv in previous weeks. Ultimately, as long as the vote totals came out how I expected, it didn't really matter where people's true loyalties lay - at least not yet. In hindsight I was obviously wrong, but I had no way of knowing that at the time and was pretty confident.
