Please stick with your no screen rules for as long as possible. I often wish I never got a smartphone because when you get addicted its hard to get away from that. Great presents though!
I’m not a mom, in-fact, I am a young girl! I live your channel so much because it helps me decide what I want for Christmas, and it helps me to not take advantage of Christmas! Especially since it’s not about the gifts. This channel also helps me sooo much with organization.. etc.
Hey, great video! I'm also going to ask for a ukulele this year. Honestly, you shouldn't care what any haters say because they're probably just jealous. I'm 13, and I think you got her great presents. She is very lucky to have a mom like you.
@@sophiagalbraith7607there are alot of good ones out there but its all based on your wants and needs when it comes to what ukulele you are gonna buy, but the one im getting this year is a Bondi ukulele which also comes with all sorts of things to go with your uke. What kind of uke are you looking for? like what size, color, price rage, and that other stuff I'd be happy to help you find one you would like.!
The ukulele thing is really popular. Especially if she can sing well, it's easy to learn. Also, I got the white bed rest a while ago and it's really nice.
She won't sing publicly but she is very musical and I think she'll love it. Yes, bed rests seem much more comfy than propping up on sagging pillows. lol
I feel like I’m going to show this video and the gift tips video to my mum because I don’t like her getting stressed out about things like gifts. I don’t even want anything
Depends, if they're into makeup look at dupe pages for high end makeup. If they're into photography or something similar make that their biggest gift and a few small things, if they want a ton of random stuff downsize to stuff they won't grow out of. I'm not a very masculine person so I wouldn't really know for a guy, but spending range I would go over 500 (depending if they're into electronics other than cell phones and ipads) gift cards are also amazing if they want makeup or video games since they can choose what to buy. Max if they're not into cameras or such 200. Coming from a teenager, as much as you feel let down with gifts, when I was younger I got tons of doll items and I've lost most of the toys, a few things that'll last is a lot better than a crazy amount of gifts they won't use after a year. (This was all over the place whoops)
That's really hard to say without knowing your income but the main thing is to only buy what you can afford and not things you would have to charge on a credit card. There are always ways to shop on a budget with sales, coupons and discount stores like: Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Ollie's, etc. I know that isn't an exact answer to your question but everybody's budget is different and I wouldn't want to tell you a number more or less than you are able to spend.
My 6 year old also asked for a ukelele for Christmas. My 8 year old has been interested in keyboards. I think that is a great gift for any musical kid! Love the color!
Aloha! You’re daughters gonna love her gifts!! May I suggest an extra set of strings for her ukulele. The sound is better than with the “stock” strings.😊. Looking forward to your future videos on gift suggestions, I’ve really been enjoying them. Mahalo😘🌺🌋
Thank you so much! Yes, we can definitely look into extra strings if she ends up playing it enough. I hope you got lots of ideas in the gift videos! Thanks so much for watching!
Imagine what my mom has to go through, she's got a 21 year old, 19 year old, 17, year old, 14 year old (me) 8 year old, AND she's about to have a baby. (We ALL still live in the same household) I feel kinda bad for her lol.
I bought myself a ukulele as well, with money from chores. It’s pink I bought from amazon only 19.99 I bought so I could find other things to do besides homework, reading, and I love Netflix, but Netflix too. Besides I’m also learning it too, so I get to learn something new. They are also very aesthetically pleasing 😂. I’m currently in middle school so I totally recommend this gift. But get a cheap one, just in case you, or the person you gift it to does like it. But if they find as a passion they can later advance ❤️🥰 Happy holidays, Annie
I thought about it but I'm not sure if anybody would want to see it. I was thinking of including some wrapping footage in a day-in-the-life vlog. What do you think about that instead of a dedicated wrapping video?
I asked for a ukulele for Christmas last year, I got a pink one! Also for my birthday I got a keyboard because I play 2 instruments (I do also play drums but I can’t have my own so I don’t play very often) I am so grateful and happy to have the opportunity to play instruments!
i love you, i am an old subscriber. last year you resived a lot of hate on these vids i am 14 and whatever you give your daughter is the best. i love you again
@@aplacetonest I was reading some replys of yours and you said there not aloud on RU-vid until after christmas. How do you stop them from going on it anyways?
I clicked when I saw the ukulele because my mum ordered me one for Christmas. Turns out I’m getting the same one from Everjoys (but in the honey colour) on Amazon!😱😂👍🏻 I’m also 14 and looking for presents ideas.
@@superbabeuk That's true, but I bet she wouldn't try to watch it. Her daughters sound like great girls so they probably wouldn't want to spoil the surprise anyway (that's just my guess)
Don’t worry about having her learn the ukulele. It’s super easy, I’ve been playing for about 6 months, and 3 days in I could already play a ton of songs. I recommend ukutabs.com to find the chords for songs.
Hey Becky, I’m happy you have shared this video. You are a very inspirational and a wonderful mom! Your children must be so grateful and they are extremely lucky to have an awesome mom like you! Keep up the good work! 💖😘
I really like your channel! You get your girls a good amount of presents and not a ridiculous amount like some people! I get a similar amount of presents and I wouldn’t want any more! Much love from England! 💗
I know you said that you don't like getting a lot of things for them on Christmas because their birthdays are right after it so here's an idea. Tell them to write down a list of things they want for their birthday AND Christmas. So basically merging two into one. Then choose how many presents you want to get them each and whatever ones are the least expensive and separate them in half. You give one half of their gifts one Christmas and the other half on their birthdays.
For christmas my mum said how about we get you some nice makeup brushes because I turned 13 about 4 moths ago and I’m getting into makeup so we got some nicer ones and yeah they are more expensive but I won’t need anymore in a while :)
Is she gong to read the books or has read the Harry Potter books? Or is there a reason you picked the movies instead of the books, just curious I love HP and reading and the books came first so I always recommend reading the books unless your parents say no.
@@aplacetonest the books are tamer than the movies no graphic descriptions and are really good and some characters never got in the movies PEEVES seriously the books are awesome. So if she likes to read I recommend them
Layla The Pineapple some people don’t like reading/don’t want to read them (even though the books are better). They’re still fans of Harry Potter though.
Lexi Brown all I’m saying is that you don’t have to read the books to be a fan of a certain series. While the books have more information and are better, you’re still a fan if you haven’t read them. Like I said in my first comment, some people like to watch the films more than reading the books.
mxllylxuise no I wasn’t saying you can’t be a fan without reading the books. I watched the movies before the books, but it is way better to read the books to understand and love the world even more
Love it! And while I was reading the description I noticed that it said you lived in Nicholasville Kentucky. I live about an hour and a half away from you in Shepherdsville Kentucky. Awesome!
your daughter is the same age as me so i look forward to these videos every year! it’s helps me decide what i would like for christmas. you do a great job of deciding what gifts to purchase for your daughters. it’s clear you have a great relationship with them.
Thank you Becky! Any chance you could share the name of the brand of the make up brushes as your links don’t work for me? It says error for both links. Thank you 😊
I’m new to your channel, but I have to say... YOU nailed it!! I LOVE all the gifts you picked out for your daughter!! I have 5 kids and 2 of them have birthdays just before or right after Christmas, the get a birthday and Christmas but if they want an expensive gift they know it will be for both, but I always fill their stockings with goodies as well:) You have some great advise, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for the next 3 videos!!!
Welcome to my channel family! It's so hard when there are birthdays right around Christmas isn't it? We really should've planned that better! lol With 5 kids, I hope you find lots of other gift ideas in the videos this week! Thanks so much for watching!
+A Place to Nest A little bit of everything lol, I highly recommend lessons before videos, because that way she'll learn the right way to auto-tune it by herself and also the best way to play it, if she starts with videos it can be a little frustrating and discouraging Once she has the basics learned from someone she'll be able to learn a bunch of cool songs available on RU-vid :D But of course is only a tip on how I learned lol
I'm a Youth Care worker, and I can say 100% that you are so thoughtful, these gifts are so well thought out, and basically being any 14 year old would be so blessed to have a parent this caring and involved in their life!
Lol,My Dad is the same way with my sister and I.When we open our presents He’s definitely just as surprised as we are! But He does shop for my brothers 😂
Oof,l never believed in santa, wish tho XD Anyone else only wanted like one or two things each year with a pair of socks or clothes.. maybe like a bean bag or something? :v Edit; this year I explained that I wanted nothing for Christmas or my birthday other than a basketball goal.. and a pair of fuzzy pastel socks!~
you’re really humble if I’m honest I’m the youngest of 4 (im 14) the rest of my siblings are 16,20,25 and now my older siblings 20,25 are moved out my parents have been really giving us stuff and i REALLY appreciate as I feel like I know the value of things as I never really used to get presents and I’m so greatfull for them:) my parents say ‘if you’ve got it spend it because you never know what will happen tomorrow’
As a 14 year old I completely approve of everything you got her I love that you get them gifts that will stimulate there artistic abilities (You're an amazing mother the haters are just trying to get under your skin)
Our daughter's theme this year is Harry Potter. She wanted a Harry Potter themed room. Cute pjs and a good idea for the book. We got our daughter a Nimus 2000 among many other items.
My daughter wants her room themed Harry Potter, too. I just bought her the new Patronus bedding set from Pottery Barn Teen so hopefully it matches her current wall color so we don't have to repaint. :) I'm sure your daughter will love Nimbus 2000!
@@aplacetonestYour daughter has great taste in liking Harry Potter! ;) We were looking for bedding as well but cant seem to find the perfect set in a king size.
Do your girls not watch these? If not how?? I know if my mom had a youtube channel and showed the stuff she bought me i would be curious and watch it...
Love your videos and please continue doing Disney ones too :))) Question: did you plan on having your kids 5 years apart on purpose? Or did it just happen that way. Reason I’m asking is because I have a 3 year old, I really want her to have a sibling but I don’t think I can handle having another one with the amount of energy and work that goes into raising kids! Thanks :)
Thanks so much and don't worry, I don't ever plan to stop making Disney videos. :) We didn't plan to have them 5 years apart but it took me that long to "be ready." They are 5 years, 11 months and 1 week apart but who's counting lol I just really wanted to take my time with my first and figure things out, spend time with her, etc. before I felt like I was ready to have another one. It has worked out so well because even though they are far apart in age, they are extremely close. Of course, I think homeschooling has a lot to do with that but they are the best of friends. : ) Just have one when you're ready and not when you think you should have one and don't let anybody else tell you when you "should." Even our pediatrician tried to tell me to have them closer together but you're the mother, you're the one responsible for them and you and your husband are the only ones who should decide when it's time to have another one. I hope that helps! :)
My brother and I are 6 yrs apart and don't get along as much as I would like. That has more to do with how we grew up. My own kids are 21 months apart (oldest and middle), 2 1/2 yrs apart (middle and youngest), 4 yrs 3 months (oldest to youngest. While is nice having them closer in age it can be hard at times because the older ones always wanted to help with the younger ones but couldn't always help. My husband gets along better with his younger brothers who are 3 and around 9 yrs younger than he does with his brother who is less than 2 yrs older.
A Place to Nest ahh okay! I will say that if she does really enjoy playing it they have some really good songs for the ukulele to start with! With easy cords! Really good for beginners!!
For my 12th birthday I got a ukulele! I have been wanting one for monthsss. I already played guitar so it can’t really easily to me. I bet she’ll love it!
Yay Loki! My boyfriend and I have a black cat named Loki - we are big Marvel fans - I love that you have a pet named Loki too. She will cherish that pillow forever. Nice work Mom - ahem and Dad! Our granddaughter is 5 and this is going to be a fun year with her. TFS ^_^
Hi Becky I just wanted to let you know, I’m aware that it is a business email but I didn’t know where else to contact you as I am not on any social media, I have sent you an email and just wanted to let you know in case you don’t see it but I do strongly suggest reading it if you could, I know this sounds weird but I’m sure you will understand when you read it lol, thanks Ps love the video and all the gifts such a great selection xx
I’m 17 and I know she will love all of this, when I was 14 I was really into this stuff. Even now I like it lol. I only have a phone, and a laptop for schoolwork. and screen addiction is real for kids in school, and it can be a huge distraction for kids so I think it’s really good your not only buying electronics.
I just found them but I love these videos. I have an eight and a sixteen year old that have birthdays right around Christmas. Can you help with how to start downgrading how many gifts you get it you've always done too much at Christmas?
I'm so glad you love them! I do a series of videos like this every year....at Christmas, their birthdays and Easter. Their bdays are in January and February so those videos will actually be up pretty soon. :) Really there isn't a set way to do it but I would just be honest and let your kids know that you love them and you love buying them things but it's just too much. Too much money, takes up too much space, etc. Tell them that you feel it's more important to get less things so they can actually enjoy and use what they get so they should only ask for things that they really want. I hope that helps. :)
I love love these gifts! I can't get over the pillow that you converted from the picture ! 💙😊What a wonderful unique idea.💛 I know she will love that! 💗I love the ukelele, how adorable! And what great Harry Potter gifts. 👑😊So creative and special.🎄💚
