It’s now 2018, the time of the Rapture soon. We need this more than ever now. Come to Jesus, He’s waiting for you, He’s waiting for us all. Be at peace, Jesus is still in control. There is no fear, only faith; there are no failures, only lessons! A message spoken to me by Jesus, when I was going thru a divorce of 25 years and felt like a failure.and full of fear! Am now 79 and 3/4 and am patiently waiting for Jesus, hopefully before my 80th year in October 2018. God bless us all! AMEN!
Thank you, Brother Sumrall for saying what you did about preachers who think themselves something when they too are just a vessel in the LORD'S hands like the rest of us. I wish that you were still here
Sumrall seemed to think Billy Sunday had a right to his demands before he came to a town. I wonder if they were the requirements of Jesus for Sunday or just what Sunday wanted.
@@jimmyburbank There is a verse in the bible where Jesus says there will come a time when the Bridegroom is taken away, then they will fast. Only those who are sealed with the Holy Spirit know him, and there are very few left.
I am not sure what he said about Billy Sunday was in praise or condemnation. He was just talking about how it is wrong to be a respecter of persons but he seemed to think it fine how Sunday required more. One think I don't like is he keeps talking about someone and their church. Maybe he is just using the term loosely but their is only one owner of the Church and that is Jesus. I think I will bow out on the rest of his teachings. I guess we could look to see how Jesus and Paul ministered and draw some conclusions. I don't want to be critical but I want to feel comfortable with the messenger that he says is the only one that has this teaching since he got it from Carter. God is not a respecter of persons. He has I believe given it to others as well.
He was simply stating that Billy Sunday was the most popular preacher of his time. That people in every town Billy Sunday went to flocked to hear him. It was praise of Billy Sunday and his work to save souls to Jesus my Lord and Savior.
Yes, but God has given some preachers greater position much like Paul. It's the same today as well. Howard Carter was a great man of God in his time and that shouldn't be downplayed. For Mr. Sumrall to have Howard Carter as his mentor is a huge blessing.
He was popular for sure but praise only belongs to Jesus not to any man no matter how much he is used of the Lord and no man has a church. To require his own building for services and a hotel room that met his specifications don't remind me at all of the self-sacrifice of the early Church apostles and those serving in remote and dangerous corners of the world much less the lifestyle of Jesus in His earthly ministry.
Paul warned about setting some men above others. We are instructed to esteem others lesser, not better. Sumrall mentioned that Carter was a man who did his best to not be seen or elevated. That is a far cry from some who magnify themselves and what happens is to the detriment of the Church. As you recall Paul worked as a tentmaker to provide for himself and did not take from the Church. If we are going to compare perhaps we need to compare to the fullest. Paul wrote most of the New Testament and functioned in all the gifts of the Spirit and Sunday only as an evangelist.
