Worked at a PC repair shop for 6 years. People came in EVERY DAY with busted charging ports. You have to be VERY careful with these! Most common was someone picking the laptop up to take it with them while it was plugged in. This yanks on the cable and SNAP! You now need soldering work done to get it fixed. Be nice to your electronics! They're expensive!

I have a similar Gigabyte Laptop and the Light Charger doesn't come on and it won't charge. But the charger in Laptop does work.. The unit is roughly 2 years old and barley used. I had in storage for about a year and just started using it and that's where I noticed the No charge problem and No Light Charger appears... Amazing Tech Work i have to say 😁👍

Small tiny correction, maybe for some it might be important, AORUS and AERO are not the same AERO are known for some as a series of laptops for their OLED displays, with Pantone color calibration check mark. AORUS has something else, better insides and more new-er other stuff.

I think that's the reason why I don't really want to learn to repair components at this level, the nervousness of making things worse. I can build computers all day long and troubleshoot, but when it comes to this kind of work, I'd rather enlist the services of Northridge Fix.

It's almost like charges/costs are dependent on the skills needed, time invested and resources spent, not just the cost of the actual product being repaired. Customers are more than welcome to spend their money how they see fit, which is why most people do just buy new because in many cases it's simply not cost effective for a cheap, older device that can be easily replaced. That is, unless there's something more valuable to the customer with that device like memories or data.

You don't get paid for the amount of time it takes you to fix a problem. You get paid for a result. Whether it takes you 5 minutes or 5 hours doesn't matter. The price being paid is for your years of experience in troubleshooting and fixing a problem. If your business was based on the amount of time it takes you to fix a problem, you'd be begging for pocket change outside your local grocery store. Results, not time.

Question: - Do you as well, make sure that the devices are partially charged (like 40-50%) when you return them, to make sure that the battery don't take extra damage? Because I notice that battery powered devices come in with little or no charge, due to the nature of the error, either not taking charge or a short, that probably has drained the battery.

If he sends the fixed device to Big Boss, I would be willing to bet my paycheck that he charges the device to at least 20%. Why waste time charging the device longer than needed, you let it charge an hour and power cycle it several times and then package it for shipment, time is of the essence. Most of the money made here is from expedited orders etc

A low battery device can get 14% loss per calendar year.. on a week, not that much.

Lithium iron batteries are more sturdy than this, fortunately, and they are starting to use these in EVs, though not phones and laptops yet, due to their lower energy density.

I have acer aspire 7 laptop , when i try to use while charging it gets off, but after charging then using, it works. Can you tell what would be the problem. On full charge battery drains in 4hr on normal use.
