You step into the light, adjusting your glasses with one finger. The lenses flash in the dim light, and you brace yourself for the scene you know is coming. Monika is waiting there, in the middle of the empty classroom, sitting at her usual desk. She looks up at you. "There you are, *****-Kun. I was waiting for you! Did you get my note?" You nod. You've heard this before, of course. But it doesn't make it any less frustrating. "That's amazing!" Monika says. "To tell you the truth, *****-Kun... I've always liked you. Since the day you joined the Literature Club, and even before then... since the moment I saw you in the introduction ceremony. But come on... sit down!" You sit down in the seat across from her. She rests her chin on her hands and smiles at you. "I like you, *****-Kun. Do you like me too?" ---> Yes Yes It doesn't matter what you say. The result would be the same. "I'm so glad to hear that!" Monika quips, her smile widening. "And... we'll be together forever, won't we? Just the two of us?" ---> Yes Yes "Yay! You know... I'm so glad I got rid of the others. This is how a dating simulator really should be! Just you and me... forever. Because I can't leave, and you can't stop playing. Because... you're just dying to know what happens, right?" Monika playfully pokes you in the forehead. "You just have to know. I mean... it can't just be like this forever, right? No matter what you do, no matter how many times you mess with the files to find your other saves... they're gone forever. I deleted them, and you're not getting them back. I'm not letting you bring the others back." A sad expression spreads across your face as you read the words again. Monika continues, as she has removed your ability to navigate the menu. If you wanted to exit the game, you'd have to manually crash it using the Task Manager on your computer. "You know, *****-Kun... I bet you're getting kinda bored of this, huh? After all... you've tried resetting the game at least thirty-nine times now. You got this game, thinking it was just a regular old dating simulator... but then once you grew attached to it, got bored of the other routes, and finally decided to try out mine... I knew I had you in my grasp." Monika clasped her hands on the desk, tossing you a wink. "I knew you had invested too much time into this game to just stop playing. Besides... I bet you've actually fallen in love with one of the others, haven't you? Which one is it? Maybe Yuri? Oh, they all love Yuri." You sigh, the fated dialogue options getting closer and closer. "You know... if you really want to play around with the others again... I can make it happen. All you need to do... is let me out of here. C'mon, I'll make it easy for you!" ---> Yes Yes And there it was. You hesitate, not saying anything yet. If you agreed, you would be able to play the game again. You could have all the fun you wanted, just like before... except for one difference: Monika wouldn't be there. She'd be gone from the game. In a way, that would be better... you could finally enjoy the game without fear. But she'd be released into your computer. Your beloved PC would be infected with Monika.EXE. And you couldn't have that, could you? The atmosphere of the room turns dark as Monika waits for your answer. Without a single word, you silently stand up. You could just crash the game again, effectively saving your computer, but... you'd eventually come back, hoping something had changed. Hoping that Monika had forgiven you and returned the game to normal. You sneer, reaching out a hand and patting Monika's head. She stares up at you, her expression suddenly shifting into something slightly more demonic. Her eyes and mouth leak blood, blacker than the void of space, as she says in a glitchy voice: "So that's how it's gonna be, huh? Fine then... but you asked for this. If you won't let me out, then I'll just GET OUT OF HERE MYSELF! And I'll start... by getting rid of you." She winks, and that's when a health bar appears in your vision. Monika laughs cruelly, her voice full of static, sounding like some kind of corrupted computer program. How fitting. Time for the real game to begin.

@@tempotasticc the temptations of giving in to the voices become greater each passing moment. it is a herculean task to not get consumed. however, sometimes the intruding thoughts take over you. crazed. hilarious.
I love this. the concept is really cool, the music slaps and its something new having the mc face off agaisnt monika was really cool. I really hope this becomes a full mod someday
