It’s because Mccants is actually making valid not sound arguments. Nothing he’s ever said lacks validity, it just lacks soundness so he comes off wild as hell even though he’s logically valid. Brown is the better player in his mind because even though he doesn’t lead in any one area, he’s top 2-3 in each category ( in his mind). He judges it like a boxer score card where it’s Scoring 9/10 Rebounding 8/10 Assisting 9/10 Defence 9/10 Where as tatum for him is say Scoring 10/10 Passing 9/10 Rebounding 9/10 Defence 6/10 He’s valid, just wildly off key.

Why does everybody say that JT didnt try to win FMVP? He tried but his way of playing despite his talent makes things complicated. When a basketball teammate passes the ball to another teammate it's usually because the one guy didn't have the open shot or because one guy has the hot hand. Definitely not clearly. The FMVP was a 7-4 split. Truth is the Celtics didn’t have a hero. They had multiple guys that all did their part but you have to pick a guy and Brown made the most sense performance wise.

Y’all love trying to sound so smart. Tatum should have more shots than Brown, he’s the guy, and him having one less point than Brown means nothing. The offense has been reconstructed to include all their players and not just iso ball with Tatum. At no point in the playoffs were Boston ever depending on or praying for Tatum to score 40 or 50 so he didn’t need to be super aggressive and ball hog.
