They are pissed for several reasons about Jaylen Brown. 1. He received one of the largest contracts in the NBA, 2. Jaylen is confident in his game, business, and education, 3. He’s not a yes man who can be bought, and 4. Jaylen is brilliant this young man was helping to educate the youth at MIT. I enjoy seeing a smart man who has integrity and is willing to stand for what he believes. Well done Jaylen 👏🏾.

I get that this is entertainment, but their whole perspective is goofy. They're in their feelings. First of all, SAS said Kenyon's name because he's on the roster. He didn't actually say anything negative about them. Second, this notion that SAS must be lying because he's not naming the source is absolutely ridiculous. That's not how journalism works and none of this is new. Third, McCants can put on a show, but he's not gonna be doing all of that when SAS comes on the show. Fourth, even if KMart or McCants or anyone specifically haven't said anything off record, SAS's point is still valid. We all know people do say stuff off the record. This segment is entertaining and goofy. And clearly SAS has a lot of haters, and that's fine. But these former NBA players acting like they don't know the game or business is just weird. Lastly, what SAS repeated from the unnamed source was not that serious. It actually benefited Brown. Gil is the only one that gets it. SAS had NO reason to make this up...at all. And then Kenyon mentions something, but doesn't want to state the source...hypocritical? Look...this is overblown and Brown has benefited. People gotta stop crying.
That could make other people not want to market him. If you are very critical on what you will receive, people won’t just give you things simply because it’s too much of a conundrum to fit your criteria and or work with you. It’s possible that certain persons don’t want to work with him. Now add the Nike Kyrie situation also. Not just for Nike but for every many other (business ran by a juice) ITS CALLED A REPUTATION. Remember Kanye? Him making it up is just as likely as this being a real thing.

Anonymous sources aren’t new but what Stephen A said about JB was unnecessary and very disrespectful. It was not something to say on live tv and had nothing to do with anything.

Journalists have to protect their sources 1. in order to maintain that source as their own, and 2. in order to protect that source from retribution. It's the same as the "Whistleblower's Dilemna".

There is just a difference between Stephen A and the Gils Area athlete panel. The panel is athletes talking sports. Stephen A is a corporate sports journalist. It's going to be a good show when he pulls up at Gils Arena though.

So trying to lie and sell a lemon player as something better will only make teams not want to deal with you. It’s not like you selling a car to a stranger and that’s that. That’s the thing I dislike about the sports reports and these shows on ESPN now. Just stick to the game. Instead of spending a whole hour on players off the court issues talk about the teams and up and coming players. The journalist wants to be the star so bad.
