An early season elk bowhunting film hunt in New Mexico. Craig Hailes drew a tag in an area that holds some decent bulls, he hunts hard and holds out till the final few days before finally deciding to draw his bow.
This was a well created video and I very much enjoyed watching it. Thank you for keeping it real and sharing with us. I'll definitely look forward to more videos by you!
Excellent video work and editing. Love the quality of photography- so clear. It's awesome you were able to travel to here to hunt. I'm sure that was very costly. Get it while you're young and in shape. Someday running the hills and wading the swamps won't be an option.
You have the best camera man in the world oh my goodness!!!! where you were hunting you're only 2 hours from my house, I'm down there all the time surrounded by bugling elk!!!😢 every year headed down there in a few weeks to set up some trail cameras.. hope you get drawn out soon to watch another awesome video of yours...
Spectacular cinematography. I’ve yet to see a hunting video that captured every aspect of the journey that a hunt can be. Thank you for sharing your story. Please keep providing this kind of content. Also.... give your videographer and editor a raise! This was a masterpiece!!!!
thanks Mark for feed back and glad you liked the film, its all an in house production as it is with our other short films, we both film and edit the hunts our selves, the right music goes along way and Jerry does a great job finding that.
This is my favorite hunting channel. Such awesome respect for the animals and the environment. Can you tell me how old you think that bull was that you harvested? Thanks for a great hunt. Folks don’t have any idea how much you work for these animals, and how much money you contribute to conservation. Bless you!
GLAD YOU GOT TO COME TO NM , I LOVE THE ELK HUNTING HERE IN MY HOME STATE, BUT LIKE YOU SAID WILL I EVER DRAW AGAIN? BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE I HAVE HAD A TAG, HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR, I HOPE YOU GET TO COME AGAIN, TO BE IN THE ELK WOODS IN SEPTEMBER IS A VERY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE, THE MENTAL GAME IS AS HARD AS THE ROCKS YOU CROSS!!!
Amazing video, loved the way you put it together. However shooting a smaller bull like that with such a coveted tag.... Congrats either way but you should have gone for something more mature.
Skyler, I think we all would have liked that, but it was on the afternoon of day 13 of a 14 day hunt. Craig had let 3 other bulls walk all with in 25 yards of him, one of which was on day 7 and better than the bull Craig ended up taking as he was he was holding out for a bigger mature bull and upgrade from what he had taken in past seasons. In the end and the way the hunt panned out Craig opted to take out this bull which was his biggest to date and has no regrets, His last trip to NM, Hailsey found a couple of really good bulls and held out trying to get one of these but ended up not firing and arrow, and has no regrets. Each hunt is different and you can only do what feels right at the time.

Not expecting anything Jimmie, we use a drone the odd time we are back in camp to give a little perspective of the country we are hunting as we think it simply adds to the film OK
Mmmhmmm I don’t expect you to admit to it anyway but to even have it while you hunt is a joke and give us real hunters a bad name so stop! Hell I know you are going to hide my post so others cant see it, just leave your drone down under its not a hunting tool its a fools tool
@@ajstaining Just goes to show how certain people and their perceptions get tunnel vision and have to have a say even if they have know idea about us but there are alot of fuckwits out there. Its just another camera angle for us that helps show a different perspective of the country we hunt in our films.
