The reason the NBA started to shop for foreign players was because you had a bunch of guys coming into the NBA straight out of high school or only spending a year or two in college that didn't know how to play the game cause their fundamentals were horrible that's why teams started to look outside the United States for players that's also why the rules change cause this guys couldn't shot the ball so the league had to make it easier for players to score

The big reason there is no defense now is because of the warriors and mainly steph curry with the 3 point shot. Everyone loves to say how curry changed the game because of his shooting. Very true but a side effect of that was other teams/ players doing the same thing. If someone scores on you no worries just go down the court and jack up a 3.

Pretty soon the NBA will start recruiting more European players because it’s less drama. No worrying about showing up for games, baby mama drama, domestic violence cases, club fights, drugs, attention whoring, unwilliness to be coached and no crazy expensive contracts. Here is a racist idea to "fix" the NBA that is totally in line with the woke DEI world we live in now. Black players get 1 point for free throws and 2 for inside the line and 3 for outside the line, BUT NON BLACK PLAYERS get 2 points for free throws, 3 points for inside the line and 4 points for 3-pointers.

Bottom line for me as a guy who made my first shot (a granny shot) on a regulation goal at the age of 4 & then played up through college is this: for decades I watched every basketball game I could find on TV or in person.......and now I haven't watched an NBA game in over a decade. The game is awful now.

There’s 130 “foreign” / International born players in the NBA. A record. Not all European born. There were European players, foreign players who were plenty good enough and great competitive players ~ Drazen, Sarunas… two very impactful players. I’m a hoops aficionado, or at least I was until the 2010’s. The “Evolution “ of athleticism, skill (individual) have replaced team play. I’m not a believer in the idea that players are far more athletic, or more skilled. ~ that’s a completely different argument. Non athletic guys can be excellent team defenders, but the team game is not emphasized, defense isn’t emphasized enough in American Basketball. Fundamentals are gone. Team play isn’t valued. Interesting the teams, and players that are successful play “team” ball and are among the best teams in defensive efficiency ~ they give EFFORT, and they compete. It’s only 8-10 teams who are worth watching on a consistent basis. Good coaching, team oriented players, who give effort and compete.
