I agree it’s amazing how Howard turned his back on people (like Artie too), but Gilbert didn’t help “make” Howard. He’d be in the same position today if Gilbert never came on the show, as funny as he is
Gilbert’s “interaction” with Holden is one of his many legendary moments on the Stern show. This, Dice Gottfried making fun of Ryan White’s funeral, harassing the daughter of holocaust victims, etc. make Gilbert the best Stern guest of all time.
Boy was Stern lying to everyone maybe even himself when he said he didn't care about being in Hollywood... just look what he has been doing in his second half of his career...
Howard had that big schnozz pressed up against the window of Hollywood, looking in and wanting to be in. For him, I'd imagine it made up for high school.
@@warshipsatin8764 ya but at least it was entertaining when he was an outsider. Now it's a morning zoo mixed in with a little bit of The View. That ain't what made Howard a star!
“What he’s been doing?” You mean being one the most highly paid successful broadcasters? What’s wrong with that? It’s called capitalism. The day people stop listening will be the day he stops raking in the dough. But until then, why shouldn’t he get paid whatever he can and stay on the air as long as he can? When he’s gone, you can listen to Joe Rogan and Anthony Cumia all day🙄
1:13:58 - No subject was so gross or disturbing that Gilbert wouldn't keep hammering away at it until everyone in the room was laughing their ass off. A comedy legend.
One of my favorite Gilbert stories is when Gilbet did his act in front of an audience of young girls and their moms (they were there to see The Bangles). Gilbert was bombing really quickly so he immediately went to filthy material, shocking the moms (and presumably the little girls too). Tom Cheapasano tells the story well since it was a K-Rock event IIRC. I hope that audio is online here too!
@@xavierpaquin for sure...my mistake for leaving him out..the online show before Netflix leashed it was the funniest things ever ...heavy duty grilling grates
@@anthonyrisola6144 ah, so you were a fan of his material on just how crooked and guilty people like scumbag Bill Clinton and murderer O.J. Simpson are, despite what race-hucksters like Spike Lee and Jesse Jackson were saying at the time.
im surprised anyone was surprised when stern sold out to showbusiness as soon as he had the opportunity he was always so desperate for the approval from all of his showbusiness friends that it comes off as kind of pathetic. stern would try so hard to act cool and detached as a defense mechanism but it was so obvious lol. if you never noticed it then youre probably the kind of guy who wouldnt have a clue if his girlfriend cheated on him
I'm not sure if you know or not old buddy, but the audio is rough man... not sure if it's for a reason, like to slip past copyright crap or something... or if it's just your audio was damaged and old... but it is... just letting you know since its seems nobody else said anything... Still appreciated... 👍😎👍
Since these aren't officially released we have to deal with 30 year old audio that was bootlegged from a bootleg. This was the best sounding version I have found but unfortunately some older clips are like this and unless we get the official audio this is just the way it goes sometimes.
These aren't ripped from DATs, man. They're all dubs of recordings of audio tapes that somebody left in their car all summer. Think of it as "nostalgia"
