Those of sensitivities this video is of Nigel talking.
GS is a common problem in ME and Dr's tell you it doesn't cause any symptoms, yeah I believe them ;-)
Vitamin D and other stuff are also discussed.

I was diagnosed with Gilbert’s syndrome last year as I was tired, foggy headed and my skin was itching like crazy, they took blood and there it was-GS. But there are other symptoms that the gp didn’t warn me about- when my levels are high I get feelings of anxiety out of nowhere- tight chest, insomnia, itchy legs and after lots of research- it makes women more prone to yeast infections (wonderful) as things take longer to break down in the body allowing yeast time to flourish in the gut. I’d get drained in no time and I used to be super active and I used to run every day- not anymore because my body just can’t do it anymore. This might not kill me but it’s made life a pain in the arse

This is exactly how I feel. I've been so tired since I was a kid.I am anxious and tired, at 16 I got the diagnosis depression,they gave me antidepressants and nothing worked (I had no idea where the depression was coming from). Years later my doctor diagnosed GS. And just out of curiosity I looked up my blood results from 2012, when I was at the treatment center and my billirubin was too high at that time too. Now I know why antidepressants never helped. Maybe GS is stress for the body and this causes anxiety out of nowhere

The Dr's don't anything about either. Many dr's won't even tell patients about it, even when the levels are above normal. While they keep insisting that there isn't a problem, it's never going to get funded. This is just one issue with ME and other things, there will be others. Thanks for watching.

I've got GS and it may not be harmful per se, but it leaves me very tired, prone to bloating and a lot of itching. Sometimes I get so tired I have to go for a nap when I get In from work. I've also had to start eating little and often as the bloating is uncomfortable.

Another autoimmune disease . I was diagnosed soon after being diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) triggered by a spinal op in 2003 discovered by accident by the rheumatologist because of the regular bloods involved. GS suffers are more likely to develop gall stones as I have done because of unconjugated bilirubin being deposited in the gall bladder . I was not told at the the time as PsA took precedence and I had general fatigue with joint pain . Had I known I could have changed diet to avoid stones and the problems I've had as a result of a gallbladder infection due to it being packed with stones . Vitamin D3 I'm trying to start the Coimbra Protocol ( 30 000 iu Vit D3 daily ) to control the PsA and psorias . I would recommend more than the 1000 iu D3 at 4000 iu -10000 iu daily for those with ME or Gilberts . Your GP will prescribe up to 1000 iu because they are simply way behind the current research in the efficacy of D3 in these diseases . If your having regular bloods with D3 monitoring , then as long as your levels are under 100 mcg/l your fine . It takes a lot of D3 to get to this level .

Thanks for your interesting views George. I didn't mention in the video, that I have Psoriasis (not PA at this point) I never put the two together. I don't have it bad, like some people, but my mother had it terrible at times and a few years before she died, had problems with her spine. I'm not sure if that's linked though. Yes I also take Vit D3, I take it at 2000 iu and on bad days 4000iu. Our GP's don't take it seriously.

Try a little curry powder in your cooking now and then, with veggies or in a stew. It seems to help to temporarily relieve the dreaded brain-fog and confusion that everyone complains about. You don’t need much, just half to one teaspoonful. In Australia, we have ‘Clive of India’ or ‘Keens’ curry powder at the supermarket. And alcohol makes the brain-fog worse, so just avoid it, especially if you have Gilbert’s syndrome, or other liver diseases, fatty liver, etc.

Interesting discussion. I’m from the states and the Drs here dismiss GS, which they say I have, as benign. I’ve seen several specialists even had a liver biopsy. I have a fatty liver, thyroid cancer (thyroidectomy), tonsillectomy I also developed Neuropathy. All this happened within five years of each other. I’ve also been Dx with CFS fibromyalgia. My EBV numbers are extremely high as well (another condition Drs dismiss). I’ve been looking into doing a liver flush/cleanse because I’ve seen evidence that my bile ducts are clogged up as Andreas Moritiz explains how to do it in his book. He has one video on GS. Cheers.

Yes Dr's tend to dismiss it as benign, but often people who have it, know they do cause symptoms, not maybe in every case, but in many. It seems many of us can't win. If something doesn't show up on tests it comes under Depression, if it does show up with stuff like GS it's benign. Not surprised your son has been dx as it's generally thought to be genetic. You've certainly got a lot on your plate there, hope you make some progress with your health issues, as any one of those can be debilitating, but when you got all that it must be very difficult.

Greetings from Pittsburgh..... Yes I have both CFS and Gilberts.....and your posting is quite interesting as it represents something I have not come across yet in my reading and research. I'm looking at a blood disorder situation as the cause and with a B12 deficiency aspect as its about producing healthy and normal red blood cells where as the breakdown of the red blood cells can be the source of the bilirubin....red tissue destruction. So this brings in a CPK test to determine the source of the red tissue as there are 3 aspects in the CPK testing. When you have a heart attack, being a red tissue situation, there is testing for the particular CPK associated with heart tissue. It seems that the red blood cells are being produced in the marrow but have a weak aspect that causes the cell destruction prematurely or there is a weakness in the cell wall perhaps that doesn't stand up to the normal wear & tear that the cell experiences in the normal function within the body. This is just my theory. But with a B12 aspect and marrow, it may trace back to the digestive system and the absorption of nutrients in the body, so going to the foundation of the problem.....it might be there.....something has affected the digestive system. In my case I suspect that I was being poisoned with low doses...exposure to arsenic by means of ingesting it in my food. I suspect my mother was a criminally mentally ill personality as she is a common denominator in my situation. My father was also ill but was diabetic so it was thought that his issues were related to the diabetes. But being that he became diabetic well before I was born, and with family issues concerning his family and my mother when they were well into their relationship, I can now in retrospect put the pieces of the puzzle together. Its a very stealthy situation, and a vindictive personality dosing him over the years if she didn't get her way in family issues as a means of getting back at my father. A means of manipulation, where he is unknowingly made sick at her hand......and in researching the arsenic poisoning scenario....it can create and bring on diabetes and high blood pressure. Typically a low level exposure makes you feel like you have a stomach flu or a gastro problem for as long as you are exposed.....when not exposed then you recover to a great degree but you may think that you have a stomach ulcer and a chronic indigestion situation. The material passes through the digestive tract and damages it along the way. With diabetes and individuals that are over weight that get gastric bypass surgery, the bypass causes the diabetes to be "cured", that's the medical conclusions in the research, but when you bypass the small intestine right after the stomach as where it empties into the small intestine....that's where you absorb nutrients....so these people are subject to possible nutritional issues due to the surgery. But even despite the surgery, there is something wrong in these individuals in this portion of the digestive tract. Some researcher think its the balance of the gut microbes, but research is only beginning to study this at this point in time. We are the antibiotic generation, so the exposure to these materials is the basis as they kill all bacteria in the body, both good and bad. They are not specific in their targets, so its a shotgun approach & not pin point.....and there was no research and data base post WW@ when they were introduced into the medical world for treatment. Now they are used in the food supply in agriculture and farming......livestock. But researching B12....when flour became enriched to restore some of the nutrients that got removed in refining....enriched white bread, the B6 masks the obvious signs that would have previously indicated a B12 issue in a blood test where the cells would visually be obvious to indicate a deficiency. But B12 is a part of digestion, so if your digestion is off and malfunctioning....it won't be readily obvious in the blood tests unless its a specific B12 blood test. In general it would be indicated in a general blood test battery due to the irregular blood cells.....but post WW2 flour enrichment hides it in a general blood test. And yes, vitamin D is critical as its also a hormone in the body where you need exposure to sunlight...not just the skin but also the eyes.

Hello Pittsburgh ;-) How are you doing at the moment? It's very difficult to do our own research on things aint' it. The Dr's often don't want to know if it doesn't come up with something they can treat, let us know how you're getting on.

@@NightShooter87 I'm alive and getting on as best as possible under the circumstances of this pandemic among other things. One of the side effects of the high bilirubin is that its supposed to keep your blood vessels clear from plaque buildup. As with anything else, I'm never text book and discovered I have 3 vessel coronary artery disease....which is contradictory....and they want to put stents in me. BUT I have gone with alternative methods.....loading up on time released niacin to clear me out. I hope to repeat diagnostics after maybe 2 years to see what has happened as a result. But the Niacin acts on the liver to influence the cholesterol factors. I'm also grinding flaxseed and adding walnuts into the mix of what I eat as they also act on the cholesterols and the balances.....and I'm due for blood work and a doctors visit...so I shall see if its being effective. Be advised that the D3 also has to be taken with Vitamin K2 as they are co-active in the body. I'm also using 1000 units of L-Lysine and 1000 units of L-Arginine as it stimulates the pituitary to secrete human growth hormone.....and that's significant for the body if you have not tried it. The combination with the D3 and K2....all stimulate testosterone too...all the growth hormones to rebuild the body from wear & tear

@mikecamps7226
@mikecamps7226 3 года назад
@@claudia5908 Of most recently, I have been researching on here and have found interesting information. You need to take Vitamin D3 at 10,000 units a day but also add with it Vitamin K2 at 100 micro units a day as they need to be together to be utilized in the body....and the combination will start to de-calcify the blood vessels over time. But there are also other things that need to be added over time such as Magnesium Malate as your calcium is to be in a ratio with the magnesium but the magnesium supplement has to be the right for to be utilized in the body.......Point being, everything has to be in a chemical form that is utilized in the body or it just passes through never being effective. As for the high blood pressure, I started on "time release" Vitamin B3 NIACIN as that opens up your blood vessels as well as works to clean them out over time. You want the time released version because a regular pill will cause flushing....the rapid introduction opens the vessels so fast it feels like you are on fire.....like you have an incredible sunburn though the effect last maybe 30 minutes......it sort of feels like an acute reaction like an allergy....but its not. I take the NIACIN several times a day as you can go with around 2 grams a day. The long term as up to 2 years time will be a slow reduction of plaques in the vessels as they get cleaned out. My cardiac doctor mentioned that you won't feel the effects of blockages until they reach 70%+ in the body and at that will be quite far into the heart disease.......so this reverses all that and its in the medical papers and publishings. AND to enhance things......eat 6 to 8 shelled walnuts a day as they introduce OMEGA 3's which also reduce the inflamations in the body and vessels and assist the cleaning out. 2 table spoons of ground FLAX SEED also is a great source of OMEGA 3. I use both the walnuts and the flax seed. There is too much in the western diet plus high fructose corn syrup being used as a sugar substitute for sugar in things that are sources of OMEGA 6's which cause inflamation and are essentially bad for you and need to be eliminated in your diet......but so hard to avoid since they put it in what seems to be ALL PROCESSED foods. SO its so easy just to snack on a quick walnut here and there thru the day.....so it adds up to 8 of them. Most of the OMEGA 3's and K2 would naturally come from grass fed animal flesh and dairy products......but today with corporate farming...its all grain fed........being food is a pass through situation......we are purposely missing nutrients by the hands of corporate farming & production and the greed for profits.
@mikecamps7226
@mikecamps7226 3 года назад
@Late Laterson You need to use the TIME RELEASE version. Start with a 250mg and get used to it.....I take mine about 3 or 4 times a day spaced out evenly as possible. But I stepped up to 500MG. I started at 250MG till the bottle ran out and after so long on the 250MG...i started taking 2 250's to see if I tolerated the higher dose. So next bottle I got the 500MG's. I take combined about 1.5 to 2 grams a day.....though I am maxed out now at that level. What I can tell you is that I made the mistake of buying a bottle of NONE time released pills and took 250MG and I had a reaction in like 10 minutes......it caused me the flushing intensely which lasted about 1 hour before it tapered off & was gone in 2 hours. Nobody really mentions that you need the time released version or this will happen. BUT from the experience, once in awhile I do get the mild flushing on the time released version as it seem that they might not break down well and consistently. Its not severe but similar to what you mention....I get itchy and it spreads over my body traveling for maybe 10 minutes before dissipating. Its kind of interesting to experience as it travels.....might start in my wrists and travel up my arms slowly. I try to take the pills after I eat so I know everything is being digested as opposed to an empty stomach. I can tell you too, that I get my pills on Amazon and my last order I put in late and I went almost a week without any.....and I did feel it. But I am taking it as therapy for high blood pressure as well as arterial plaque. I also started Vitamin D3 taken with K2 to further my therapy to de-calcify my vessels. Its a long term situation that seem to be like 2 or 3 years, but I feel I have had results as compared to what I could do physically a year ago when I got diagnosed.....compared to presently today as I am more physically active. Bilirubin technically should keep your vessels open and reduce any inflammation in the vessels. But when you take the D3 and K2...you also need to add Magnesium Malate which should further relax your muscles including the blood vessels. I'll be going the route of taking the proper form of B1 as soon as my order gets in. The processed grains and White flour bread are re-fortified as per government regulations...and they do meet the letter of the law but they use the cheapest chemical which is not a bio-available form...so we all are starved for B vitamins as a result. You have to research the forms which are bio-available in the body.....and you'll find most commercially sold multi-vitamins are garbage and the wrong chemical form to be absorbed properly and used by the body......which is unfortunate....particularly when you expect results and don't really get any. And the other side to the coin is if your digestive tract can digest and thus liberate the vitamins from their natural source so you can absorb them as many people have digestive issues. You are better off to take the proper supplements as the chemicals don't have to be liberated by a digestive process and food breakdown. Look up DR. Stasha Gominak and watch her seminars on Vitamin D3 and its broad scope in the body.

Trouble is that when intoxicated (almost always) remembering doesn’t stick) Anyways, i at least try to follow the recommended meal plan, get enough rest, not be cold. And i absolutely avoid fatty, fried spicy foods, alcohol, nicotine, chocolate and coffee. Also i found that any nuts and seeds and sour and fibery fruit worsen things for me. Most importantly is the skill of comparing with other “healthier and more active people” needs to be unlearnt and total self acceptance installed over it. It helps reduce the stress which also leads to heigh bilirubin.
