Thank you so much for this wonderful choice - I first heard "Ah, leave me not to pine", of all places, in the film 'Wilde', where it was sung by Jude Law as Lord Alfred Douglas. I was 15 and I was struck by the melody, so lovely that it couldn't be harmed by a non-singer performing it. Have loved it ever since. This recording is perfect and made my night!

I wish I could sing so beautifully as this Valerie does. I envy her delightful voice. I know very little of Gilbert & Sullivan’s compositions but I enjoyed listening to this duet as I found it particularly moving and very emotional. This duet was sung beautifully by these two wonderful singers with such emotion I was quite overwhelmed . Thank You, Anthony for uploading such a different video for me to listen to. I enjoyed it very much. I’ll take time out to listen to Gilbert & Sullivan’s works in the future. Excellent .... ✅
Ah yes! Good ol' G & S. When I was in high school, I played in "The Mikado" but alas I wasn't the Second Trombone in the orchestra. I was playing the First Trombone part. 😃
Sullivan had a tremendous gift for pulling the heart strings. Along with this, I would recommend Iolanthe's Ballad 'He loves!' or Katisha's song 'Hearts do not break' from the Mikado.
