A comparison video between the Gilded Tarot and the newly published Gilded Tarot Royale by Ciro Marchetti, both published by Llewellyn. ******************************* Music info: Song: Falls Artist: Keith Kenniff
That has to be one of the most enjoyable walkthroughs that I've ever seen. While I love great commentary, there was something magical about just enjoying and comparing the art with beautiful atmospheric music that complemented and enhanced Ciro's art. You gave us the right amount of time to view each card as well. Bravo!!
8 months later, didn’t realise I’d seen this video already! Music is do gooood. Thanks for review o now have both decks. Beautiful in their own ways 🌹🌸
Thank you so much! Lovely comparison! Talk about a walk down memory lane! The Gilded Tarot was my very first deck, but there was a card missing! I won't be buying it again! It's too cheaply made, with poor cardstock, and the borders really detract! The Gilded Tarot Royale is close enough to the original, that I can say I have the very first deck I bought without any of the negatives which led me to give it away in the first place, and with more of the positives (like quality and beauty) that made me sentimentally attached to it to begin with!✨🕊️
Thank you for this comparison video. It was quite enlightening. I'm torn between the two tho 'cause there are things that I like and dislike in both of 'em. 🤔
Thank you for posting this. I have The Gilded Tarot and I love the deck. My new Royale version is arriving on Monday (tomorrow) and I am so excited. I love Ciro's work. Fabulous
Thank you SO much for this video. I’m off to buy the Gilded Royale right now (having never really ‘got on’ with Ciro’s decks before - I think this one could be different for me!) I’ve just subscribed to your channel and will be checking out your other videos very soon! 😊
Thank you for making such a nice video on this, 💖 not talking so much also showing the cards accordingly and soft music around. Best review. Keep it up 👍😊
Thanks so much for showing both decks, I had no idea there was an upgrade. I must say his artwork is beautiful but some of the faces on his people turn me off. That is one scary magician card. Thanks for a great video just showing the cards.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Magician but the new one is definitely not an improvement either! I get what you’re saying about some of the faces…the new Two of Cups is one of the worst!
@@tarotmusings4191 I didn't like them either, their faces aren't pleasant looking at all. Thanks again for doing a very nice video comparing the two decks.
thanks for doing this comparison. I can't wait to get my Royale deck, the colour s look so vibrant and i prefer decks without borders. Although I'm sorry to see that the 2 of Cups hasn't improved much, but at least it's better than the original image - the couple on that card looked like rejects from a rock music video from the 70s.
I actually prefer the original in this case! The faces on the new 2 of Cups look weird to me. Not sure if you have his Legacy of the Divine deck, but that Lovers/2 of Cups couple looks very dated to me. That hair!
Was looking for something at the back of my closet and found an old box with 4 decks and among them were this OG Gilded Tarot now compared to the Taroteca Studios decks that I enjoy this seems too basic for me I think it will stay as a deck that I won't use at all. I've gotten used to elaborate drawings and scenery.
Thanks again! I you are just amazing about the presentation! It s hard to decide but i think i ll buy Royal...it will be my second tarot deck...Thanks to you... What do you prefer..when you have both in your hands? Which size are Royal? Thank you very much!
I definitely prefer the Royale. There’s only a few cards (The Magician, 2 of Cups) where I prefer the original artwork. They’re pretty similar in size, the Royale might be a bit taller, but it looks a lot bigger because it doesn’t have the borders the original had.
@@tarotmusings4191i Am asking because nobody here ( where i live ) can tell me the size of the cards... Just the size of the box( package) 146*225*52 mm... I don t have experience with tarocards...thats why i asked. Thanks!
I don’t have the original book (my Gilded Tarot came with the Easy Tarot kit) but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly the same, except for some notes in the beginning from the artist about the new version. The copyright page says that it’s copyright 2004 and 2020.
