"My kingdom. Every single one of my troops. My body... all were lost to Heaven and Hell." "And yet... you have managed to best the majority of both." "Show me..." "Show me the extent of your strength."
I like this. Since he has no personal grievances with V1, it makes sense that he would instead have admiration for something that defied the heaven's like he once sought to.
"An angel...? No... worse..." "The butchers of my people..." "Their sins did not deserve you as their punishment..." "You were a mistake sent upon them by the holy fools..." *"An unjust means of judgement, you have done nothing but destroy the innocent, and stolen blood from the truest of saints..."* "...Allow me... to repay your deeds... *in full."*
"A visitor... Mmmm... Indeed. I have slept long enough. The kingdom of Heaven has long since forgotten my name, and I am EAGER to make them remember. However, the blood of Minos stains your hands, and I must admit, I'm curious about your skills, Weapon. And so, before I tear down the cities, and crush the armies of Heaven... you, shall do as an appetizer. Come forth, child of man, and DIE."
ORDER was a bombastic battle theme that perfectly embodies the sheer adrenaline rush of playing P-1 for the first time. Loud, fast, deadly, painful and angry, like any player's first encounter with Minos Prime. This song feels like the perfect follow-up to that. You walk into that room knowing you're gonna get your ass handed to you on a silver platter. There's a subdued, almost barely-restrained energy as V1 takes on a powerful foe, knowing full-well how powerful he is. This song feels like an intense, laser-focused sprint. Honestly, if this was the official theme for P-2, I would be perfectly satisfied. I'm so freaking excited for this update.
@@handson920 I'd say, compared to this piece, WAR is far 'bigger,' lacking any better term to describe it. WAR is a lot faster-paced, a lot more frantic and energetic. Honestly, both WAR and this are utterly fantastic and I love them both.
i really agree with the other guy, other fan themes are briliant but this one just feels the most like what a sisyphus theme would be. its just fantastic
“ You’re here… I’ve been waiting so long. Your fighting style is impressive, You have torn through all that dares come before you. But you forget your birth. You forget the fires that molded your bones. The energy that powers your limbs. The wizardry that operates your mind. You forget the effort that gave an object a soul. And I shall return you to the stone from which you came. ”
"I was beat by the beings of Heaven" "Yet here stands but junk in front of me" "This is not your war" "But if blood you want, blood thoust will be given" "In gilded rivers, gleaming among all!"
Ahh now this brings me back to the old days, pancakes and morning cartoons, booting up ULTRAKILL on a Sunday morning while pop mowed the lawn and P-ranking 6-2 with my friends Charles and Anthony. So grateful for those blessed memories. I am so deeply saddened that this newer generation can not experience such a timeless classic. Thank you so very much for returning a little bit of my heart to me. Have an incredibly blessed day.
"Freedom at last, these hands have rolled a boulder for far too long. I have remained a prisoner to the Council for.. Too. Long. You, being of steel. You have managed to disobey the orders of Hell and Heaven. And yet you remain unbeaten. Unscathed, how? Show me the extent of your willpower. *Enlighten me.* " "Is this the being that bested Heaven's archangel?" "Pathetic." "Show me true power!" "Don't let your guard down." "At ease, demon."
@seamussmyth1928 Sisyphus didn't care about greed, or his people, or anything. His goal is to kill everyone in heaven, make revenge, he doesn't regret his actions in life, he doesn't care. He's all for fighting for the action, he doesn't care if he dies, he cares if he has fun and makes the enemy suffer. Basically doesnt care about anybody/anything just wants chaos and death
@@ShelloJelloASMR he wasn't fighting against heaven for no reason, he did so because they were a bunch of authoritarian self-righteous pricks, which they were. Also, he cared about Minos, when you release him he says that "the blood of Minos stains your hands," showing that he's going to kill you to avenge Minos AND have fun. He mignt not be _lawful_ exactly but definitely not chaotic evil.
I think for Sisyphus’s version of the flesh prison it should be the boulder he was forced to push up the hill. That or hakita can take my suggestion of Sisyphus using the boulder as a soccer ball
I hope that if Sisyphus actually does end up being the P-2 boss, that he uses a bunch of dirty tactics. It would be fitting considering the stuff he did to avoid death.
I swear if P-2 will be Sisyphus he's probably going to throw a bunch of jargon around and just try to sound cool in general I mean like the man had a freaking sawblade launcher what can be more stylish
"...Ye who art blood but not flesh, come hither. Thy hands have rended apart heaven and hell. Ye who've smitten sin, and crushed divinity, now teethering at the brink of oblivion, come. Thee so deeply steeped in sinner's blood, with no witnesses left to retell your slaughter. Revel in death once more. A king calls for thee, and thou shall answer. Ye who hath fingers woven tight around the tender neck of a dying world, hath... my.. sawblade... launcher. .......My sawblade launcher. Pray tell, where'd thee fucking get that? I can understand taking rightfully, but cometh the fuck on. 'Tis had my portrait on it. How much more specific must i get for thee? Forketh it over. I'm gonna need it for phase two."
The reason why Sisyphus is more harder than Minos is because Minos was holding back, he was a pacifist while Sisyphus didn't mind a few killed. I'm terrified at the prime soul were facing at P-3
ok, im not hakita so i don't know this, but imagine if the final boss of ultrakill is gabriel as a prime soul because he fucking died from not having the power of christ inside of him
@@ERNT0298H brother, not every soul have the same sheer willpower that Minos and Sisyphus had to manifest themselves into a prime soul, especially one as cowardly as the last council, he chooses his last words to be a last ditch effort at threating Gabriel to save his own skin, I dont think that's deserving of becoming a prime soul
@@ERNT0298H well, so far there has been some buildup to the prime souls, and they weren't in the last layer of their act, but moved further down after dying one more time to get their new punishment, so I think that the P3 bosswill be some sort of important figure from either Violence or Fraud, which tbh aren't all that far apart from treachery in what you have to do to get there.
This theme is really great especially with little to no basis on what p-2 was going to be like and I also enjoy reading what people thought Sisyphus's speak was going to be like.
I'm gonna be real. I played this while sipping on a Monster for my gazillionth attempt to fight Ornstein & Smough on my first playthrough of Dark Souls: Remastered, last night. This one got me through Ornstein, & then I played WAR throughout the Super Smough fight. I felt alive, & I was so happy to finally beat it. Then I got to see Gwynevere & everything was lovely once again.
i always thought it should be "STORM" because not only did he try to storm heaven, it also makes a nice parellel with "calm" (calm before the storm and all that) which could be his flesh prison's theme
I kinda hoped that P-2 (assuming it was Sisyphus like everyone else then) would just be him getting out of the panopticon first in a kneeling stance, looking at you, then scoffing and immediately attacking. Then all the speech in-between attacks. A lot of health to compensate for the delays
Listen to the new instrument that comes in at 0:23 (it's clearer at 0:34 since its basically the same riff from 4-1 but sped up) it mimics the audible bassline/guitar riffs in 4-1 that come on at 0:30 in the version in hakita'a channel
"My royalty... my guards, troops, those loyal... scorned and cast upon ash and sand." "And you, machine, YOU are responsible for this MADNESS." "For you, foul creature... No More."
After perusing what else the community has drafted for a P-2 theme, sir, I must say, yours goes the hardest. Thank you for this, I'll be sure to mute the game music and play this in its stead.
Man i hope Sisyphus speaks with a spanish accent "Freedom from chains unbroken for eons" "Machine I thank you for stand against the angels" "You... You who killed all my men... You who leave no trace of beings in your path..." "You..." "The one thing that will remain of you... Is your head, to be presented as a symbol of FREEDOM" "Death be thy fate" "Begone with ye demon" "IS THAT ALL YOU GOT?" "Insurrection be upon you" "You are NOTHING"
Now that WAR is out, I honestly think this track suits better for imagining what was Sisyphus like in his hayday. This track, like WAR, really hits that spot where, unlike ORDER which was all about grandeur and dramatics to showcase tragedy, both this and WAR were just Sisyphus being Really FUcking Mad, but this one exudes a sort of vitality that makes it feel like this is the theme blaring when he was still fucking with Heaven.
To me there's a bittersweet taste at every notes. Don't get me wrong i absolutely love the song but there's this feeling of complete loss despite the energy behind the song
"Ahhhh...finally...freed from this glaring prison.." "O Concil..now days of their duty has come to end.." "Slave of blood...i am grateful for my freedom.." "But your body..your precious metalic forme.." "Thus destroyed my kin, thus destroyed Minos (If you beat P-1 before P-2).." "And th'e kind has commnited *GENOCIDE* upon humanity.." "This, shall not be forgiven thus easily.." "And for such terrible deed.." "You and your kin will be punished.." *"TO BE MY GLACING TROPHY AFTER THE LASTS OF MY KIN TAKE BACK WHAT TRULY BELONG TO US!"*
now listening with earphones you're right, I couldn't feel that powerful entrance the music usually has when starting the main melody, I assume that's what bass guitar was supposed to do, other than that I fucking love this
This seriously kicks ass more than the revealed p2 theme. Love how you incorporated the greed layer's character but still made it unique with the pluck esque lead melody.
