lombok has lots of gilis but the most famous ones are in this video, if you want to try other gilis I suggest going to Gili Asahan, Gili Nanggu, Gili kondo (they are in different places) but they have each of the other gilis nearby
From one Canuck to another, just to let you know, the day after Halloween there was a foot of snow on the ground. It's not important to know what part of Canada I live in, winter sucks everywhere in the country I love. That is why I plan to be in the land of smiles come the new year. Until then your videos, and others , keep me warm and focused on that journey. Looking forward to next vid.
I just got home earlier this week from Bali, miss it already. I chose Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan ( for 3rd/4th time) and Nusa Penida ( for first time) Had I had longer than 2 1/2 weeks I would've gone to the Gili Islands again too, next year 😀 Looks like things are getting better and more like it was pre covid, which is good to see.
@@SideTripLife might be going in March. Been going to Thailand for a long time, but I'm coming around to Bali now, especially the G Isles. Thanks bud!
Finally away from the city. I admit…still plenty of people… but the island vibe seems totally different. This looked like a fun destination. Can’t wait for the next video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow.... Fantastic STL...... I am a Big Petrol head, but the silence of having no cars is wonderful... It was the first thing I noticed... Great food and Good Night life.... Actually, just didn't see much trash on Gilis beaches. Also didn't photoshop it out nor avoid filming it either (perhaps have a look at my next vid island hopping for example). But for sure Indonesia like much of SE Asia has a big trash problem. Btw, can also be a problem in AUS apparently: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xmxKUwB8VFQ.html And even in my beloved BC: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QlAKf7w8z38.html Fortunately It's slowly getting better with awareness, so thanks for adding your concern. STL
STL. Been enjoying your vids lately. Excellent job with prices. Wohld you mind telling us what app or resource you use to book these fabulous hotek deals. ? Thanks
Not somewhere I've ever looked at before but the music choice in the night time venues would be preferable to the car alarm techno you get in most Thai clubs. Thanks STL, you're adding to my list of maybes.
It was okish. But Wifi is often hit.n miss in hotels anywhere as you're sharing same node with many others (and depending ion time of day can get throttled). Also, the wifi unit/thus signal may be weak if too far from your room. Soooo, I usually get an unlimited sim card in ea country (10 mbps is my min threshold) then tether signal from phone to laptop when needed. Best sim card deals are usually in a shop in town vs at the airport. Another advantage of sim back-up is you can connect on a beach etc too.
Hey Side Trip, how's it going, hate to be a spoiler but i found Gili no different to pulling up on Koh Lahn or Phi Phi, or any other Thai island for that matter, that said, enjoy.
Yep, I missed that one (only by around 20x...) Perhaps I'll add mistakes on purpose in future to increase the comments/interactions so YT algorithm adds my vids (lol/asg!;)
Normally don't buy this brand as it's pretty spendy BUT... was on sale - Samsonite Viz Air. Super lite but protects my laptop etc (macbook air m1, also super lite & slices thru even 4k vid edits with ease) plus pack has strap to fit & sit over handle on top of my wheeled carry-on sized case. Put the pack on top of the wheels and easy to pull along both with one finger, perfect. Fact is you rarely need to actually carry your bags even in SE Asia. 'Real' backpackers may disagree as some prefer to trudge along in sweltering heat laden like pack mules on both back and front (it 'looks cool' I guess lol;)
