Last year only the middle order fired maxi, shabhaz patidar and dk. Last time openers didn't do much at all. That's how the game goes. Can't judge stokes for 2 matches, many players didn't do well at the start. Stokes got injured and went due to Ashes. If not for ashes he could have stayed. Last year chahar was ruled out and this year stokes.

My observation on RCB through the IPL is that there is no middle order; there is no finisher; there is no Good bowling; except Siraj. DK, Hasaranga all waste through this season. This team was solely depending only KGF. This KGF can win for 3/4 matches and not possible through the matches. Looking at GT perspective, CSK is not RCB. Thala dhoni is there. CSK bowling is far better than RCB team. It's going to be neck-to-neck game. That's where CSK has more advantages in terms of handling pressures. So CSK will win.

In my perspective, Siraj was the only bowler with good run rate and taking more wickets. I don't think others were really impact ful. But CSK over the time, improved their bowling unit. With patheerana, it looks more better now. However CSK bowling is not as good as GT. GT has a very solid bowling side.

@Anirudh The match happened between GT and RCB at chinnaswamy. Pitches at Chinnaswamy and Chepauk aren't the same. Since it is going to be night game, i beleive the pitch would get slower in the second innings if dew doesn't set in. On the other hand if dew does set in we have a good opportunity, but for bowlers like Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan it would skid on faster making it more challenging to judge the pace, thus paving way for more lbw and bowled opportunities. The Weather condition and pitch condition are going to be crucial. Plus I agree with you 200 isn't going to be enough, 215-220 could perhaps be a safe if they were to play on strip similar to the ones they played Punjab on, else 200 could be safe target. However, if they were to play on pitches like the ones they played Mumbai, few other teams it is going to be a challenge for teams to chase 200 on a slow strip. Not all teams could chase at Chennai like KKR did (when there isn't enough dew or dew sets in late plus Rinku and Nitish Rana made the difference on that day). Thus batting second could be a risky factor if CSK were to chase 190-200 set by GT in a crucial qualifier clash, there is going to be extra pressure on the batters. Thus batting first could be the best option personally considering the risks and uncertainties.
