I don't understand why Jaiswal and Abhishek can't open together in T20s. If two right-hand batsmen can open, why not two left-handers? It's all stereotypes. The world has seen the destruction that Hayden and Gilchrist have done. I feel Ritu is a better player, but both Shubman and Ritu are more suited for the No. 3 position. An opener in T20s should always be destructive, while at No. 3, we need an anchor.

No need of anchor at Number 3. That is a flawed concept which should be accepted if our lower middle order is inexperienced. Sky, hardik, axar and rinku all can play anchor roles whenever it is needed. They have showed it multiple times. Sky against USA, rinku WITH Rohit sharma partnership (can't remember the match), Axar in Finals and Hardik has done the same many times. Go with other quick scorer. Pant would be fine if he brings more consistency.

@abhinandan1441, I respect your opinion, but I think you missed my point. In T20Is, playing someone like Shubman or Ritu at the opening spot is not ideal now that Rohit has retired. We need a like-for-like replacement to maintain balance, and neither Shubman nor Ritu has the explosive intent required. Both are classical players who struggle to provide consistent explosive starts. An opener's role in T20 cricket shouldn't be about surviving until the 15th over with a slow start. They need to be aggressive from the get-go. I'd rather see a 12(5) than a 50(45) because it shows the intent to capitalize on the powerplay. Openers should thrive, not just survive. And just think about it we have a chance to have our own version of Hayden - Gilchrist. Doesn't that excite you?

Let me just preface it by saying that yashasvi is gonna be the greatest batter of this gen of ind batters Gill has highest potential out of rest 3 but still he hasn't realised it in t20s, but being favourite of the board, he'll be backed.
