Gillette Fusion Proglide vs. Schick HYDRO 5 Sense - average guy tested LIVE 

Pro-glide pulled and tugged on my face, Schick Hydro wins that battle every single time in my book. The Schick Hydro is the first razor that has not irritated me at all.

I used the Gillette razor for 30 years, however with their toxic-masculinity adds two years ago I immediately stopped using their products and bought an edge razor at Costco. But, I haven’t liked it very much, so today, Christmas Day my wife bought me a Schlick Hydro 5. So, I think this will now be my razor of choice f-r the rest of my life and what I will by my two sons when they start shaving!

I prefer the fusion pro glide and I have both. The fusion is way more comfortable easier to clean

I'm all in on the Schick Hydro 5. I've used most of the other cartridge razors. Harry's before & after the new sharper blades, the Gillette fusion old/newest version. For me Schick Hydro 5 is the king or cartridge razors. And it's only a gimmick if it doesn't work. For that reason the Hydro 5 is a no gimmick affair. The hydrating strip works, the blades don't pull leaving you with less irritation overall. If i have the time for a nice relaxing shave i'll use a Proraso pre-shave with a classic barbers towel & lather up with some cremo cooling shave cream. Then go to work with a Schick Hydro 5 Sensitive Blade then rinse & finish with some classic green Proraso aftershave. If I'm in a hurry I'll use Bevel pre-shave oil or secret shave, I always shave after a shower if there's such a thing as an official how to shave guide a shower should be step 1. And like anything it comes down to personal preference, so use what works for you. Great video as always.

The Gillette power handles work! I still use one regularly that I still have, after all of these years, for my Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Power/Sensitive blades. The vibration actually lifts the hairs on my face/top of my head and neck.

I'm pretty invested in the Hydro 5 system as I like the flip top for a more precise shave. But I do like the flexball handle of the gillette as I shave my head. Would you recommend the switch just on the handle alone?

The vibration on the Fusion does work as long as you move it at half speed.

I loved both, I liked Fusion a little bit more. So sales priced decides it for me. the Hrydo5 has a flip down precision trimmer that you missed. I was lucky... I store closed and I got one and a half cases of Hrydo5... 1$ a cartridge. down to my last 8 :( So I looking to what are the top razors now.

hi my name is rajiv and i wanted to ask. personally i like to use my gillette skinguard but with schick hydro sense i was curious on it as skinguard stops irritation, burns, and bumps so for me i shave my head against the grain with skinguard. do u recommend the schick hydro for someone who shaves against the grain whilst avoiding razor burns, irritation, bumps and etc. is the schick superior compared to skinguard.

Never heard of Schick but if that is the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 that is my daily razor. I like the way it feels in my hand but also my skin is very sensitive to nicks and my blood does not always clot so I need to avoid nicks more than most and I have found the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 manages this very well. I also have the Mach 3 but for some reason Gillette stated to get too preachy and I don’t want to be lectured to by corporations. When it comes to soap I use Taylor’s of Old Bond Street.

This is like comparing apples and oranges. You really should have used the power hydro 5...

I used to use Gillette but they really bumped up the prices when they went to 4 blades so I switched to the Schick quattro. Loved that razor but Walmart stopped carrying it so I bought the hydro 5. Idk about the electric function but I went on vacation and bought the Gillette fusion five blade and the blade tugged more and got dull after 2 uses. The blades on the Gillette point down more and don't wash out as easy so that's my theory as to why it grabs so hydro is a superior razor 🪒. Again this is the regular comparison not the buzzer battery version. I'm sticking with Schick.

Used to use Gillette when i was 16 but now 36 prefer wilkinson sword hydro 5 get much cleaner shave + works better for me + they been going longer than Gillette wilkinson sword est 1772 /2021 = 249 yrs Gillette est 1901/2021= 120 yrs

I’ve been using both razors for a long time. Gillet razor gets dull quicker and gets you cut or irritation. Schick is better than Gillet.

What do you prefer sensor or fusion ????
