Gillette Slim Twist Deluxe | Silver Astor DE Blade 

More than we the viewers being faithful to you, you've been a dedicated person to us, religiously sharing your shaves for many many years now. It takes commitment to do this twice a week for so long. So thank you very much. In regards to using disposable products, I think that it's not a matter of using 'garbage' or not. For me it's a matter of using good technique and what suits you best. I came to the authentic side of shaving years ago (maybe 6 years) mostly because of your videos. But if I'm in some place where a DE razor is not available I think the technique skills I developed using traditional products will help me pull out a great shave as well. So I'm looking forward for the video which will not be disposable at all :) All the best!

Good morning Paul! To day i use the Slim Twist from 1984. My father shaved with this safety razor all his life. To day is one week after that my father passed away. This shave today is a tribute to my lovely father.

I definitely would be interested in seeing how you store your shave gear. I'm at 100+ soaps, creams and I've run out of space lol 😆 I always like to see others methods for storing to see if I get any new ideas for my stuff. SOTD: 1921 Gillette New Standard razor with a Personna Med-Prep blade, Stirling City Slicker(discontinued, very low scent strength, trying to use it up) soap, splash, balm, and a AP Shave Co 30mm Silksmoke knot. Great vintage shave Paul💈💈 Wow! Beautiful arrangement this morning, fantastic colors, thanks Mrs H. Amazing how these vintage Gillette razors still work after so many years, certainly were made to last. My Wilkinson Sword soap is blue and smells good, works surprisingly well. Tabac is now tallow free I heard, glad I stocked up on the original formula. SOTD: PAA Cube, Captain's Choice "North" soap/splash/balm, Heritage "C-MON 77-4" badger brush, EJ DE89 3D razor w/Permasharp blade, alum and witch hazel...Wonderful. Thanks for the shout out Paul, the overview of storage would be superb, I too have drawers full and it can be a bit overwhelming at times. Nice video as always, chat and review. Happy Sunday Paul (A day late, I am afraid). I get so much joy out of the flowers, each and every video; thank you Mrs. H!! Oh, that is a nice looking Gillette Slim Twist (AKA as the Knack for the USA viewers), what a wonderful gift. Never tried an Astor blade myself, keen to see how you get on with it. I love the color of your Yaqi brush...like I need another brush! Yeah, that Astor blade looks smooth and mild. SOTD: 1955 Gillette Red Tip Super Speed loaded with a Feather Hi-Stainless blade (10th use). Stirling Pumpkin Spice shave soap, face lathered with a That Darn Rob 26 mm BOSS synthetic brush. Finished with Thayers AF SF skin toner and Stirling Pumpkin Spice Aftershave. Gosh, I smell of Autumn and sooo smoooooooth. The Feather blade is buttery smooth and still cutting effectively. Every once in a while, I find a Feather Hi-Stainless blade that makes me wonder why they all can't be as great as this. Good looking shave Paul! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Please take care. Nice shave today. The simple soaps at times give some of the best shaves. My sotd was rockwell 6c on the 4th plate with a feather blade in it. Soap was tobs almond, with gillette cool wave after shave. My motd, will be liver and onions. You and mrs h have a great week

Very nice shave sir. Tabac was one of my first set of soaps I purchased when I started wet shaving. Had so many mixed reviews, but I’m glad I purchased it, it’s one of my go to soaps.

Superb lather. Yaqi brushes are really setting the pace for quality and value; and what an exclusive razor, that Slim Twist Deluxe. I didn't know there was such a model. Good morning. Very nice flowers Mrs H. Lovely color combination. My SOTD was a bit bloody: Erbe shave mug, Boopal Sandalwood & Beer soap, Jaguar 1949 brush, Sedef Shavette, Derby Extra blade, alum block, styptic pencil, Bioré witch hazel and Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Cavendish aftershave. I got that Shavette for free when I ordered some Derby Premium blades. But that's not for me, I'll stick to safety razors. MOTD: Butternut Squash steak, white cabbage and rice.

Mrs. H. made a feast for the eyes. I like the colors on the twist. Makes it look expensive. I say "Aye!" to an overview shave den tour. I, for one, am looking forward to the cartridge shave. The latest Gillette carts and canned cream/gel give me the best shave ever. But I prefer to wet shave for the pleasure and good memories it brings me (when I began shaving as a teenager, during the reign of Henry V, my very first razor was a Gillette Slim Twist with a blue handle).

Tell Mrs. H wowsers on the beautiful arrangement. Speaking of Tabac, that was the soap I used this morning with my Rockwell 6S and a Nacet blade. Alum, witch hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm, and Whiskey Woods to top off the shave. You had a nice shave despite that "mild" blade. I'll see you on Wednesday and later on for the Hot and Spicy. My Sunday SOTD will be the Gillette Goodwill with a Spoiler Blade, Simpson Chubby 3 Badger Brush, PAA Cube 2.0, Noble Otter Firefighter Soap and Aftershave, and some L’Oréal Men Expert Birch Sap Balm to finish the shave. Sunday Meal of the day will be some Stuffed peppers with some curried lentils, basmati rice, garlic knots, honey glazed carrots, and street corn. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!

Very beautiful flower arrangement once again from Mrs.H, for some reason it brings back memories of my Mum. The scent of both Tabac and Wilkinson Sword can be an acquired old fashioned taste, personally I like them both and are great value soaps. Cannot go wrong with a Yaqi brush IMO, gold and black together make a beautiful looking razor, great shave once again Paul, take care mate.

First on t2 over nice shave I found 3 to high for me lot of blade feel still there at 2 but not bad finished with lowest setting 2 passes was all I needed 2 light nicks this razor needs a very light touch let the razors weight do the work I compare this razor to my black land dart for aggressiveness not really a beginner razor but beautifully made nice!

I had a lovely shave of the day at my in-laws, as we stayed here last night: Phoenix and Beau Alibion. Yaqi red marble 24mm tuxedo. Menthol crystals. Astra blue. That Darn Rob razor. Boots Cucumber toner.

Never heard of that Floyd aftershave before...must be good...a bit pricey, though. Great shave, Paul! SOTD Rockwell 6C, Shark blade, EverReady badger, Captain's Choice Venture, PAA Cold Spices, Nivea Sensitive Skin balm.

Go on then, Sunday dinner? Prawns, glass noodles, Chinese celery, garlic and dark soy sauce steamed in a clay pot over charcoal, served with a hot Thai dipping sauce of red and green bird's-eye chilli, lime juice and fish sauce.

It has been explained on occasion and you found it also demonstrated from this shave; the whiskers shrink as they dry, after the shave so upon drying, the face appears better shaved than when the shave was just finished.

Nice shave Paul, as usual. I am trying to get some Floid in Australia but it can only be bought on ebay (postage cost kills it). My SOTD was Merkur HD loaded with indian Wilkinson Gillette blade, TOBS Sandalwood cream, finished with Yardley Gentleman aftershave and Nivea Sensitive balm. Stay safe.

It's ok to shave once in a while with a cartridge. I've been wet shaving for eight years now, and if I need a quick one I go for Atra and a can of Rock Face gel. It's a deviation but not a betrayal.

Nice shave Paul, that is a lovely razor you can't beat the old school de razors, I get a better shave with my vintage Gillettes than I do with some of my modern razors but My R41 and my Muhle Rocca are exempt from that statement lol 😆 those are two razors I would never part with, Wilkinson sword soap is a good reliable soap and good lather and slickness take care and have a great week 😀👍

You've probably guessed already paul 😂😂 the usual proraso green products again, with the dovo shavette and Derby extra half blade. I'll be pairing up the muhle r41 with a perma sharp soon, to change things up a bit. Products?? Probably will switch from proraso green to cella red I think. Cheers again 🍻🍻

I think you will find that the blue Wilkinson Sword contains tallow, whereas the black tub doesn't.

My shave of the day today will be my first with my Rockwell t2 I,ll let you know what i think of it later on good choice of razor you are using today I had one for years I used 7 o,clock blades in mine and a Wilkinson sword soap stick

You had a deluxe shave today with one of the worst blades in the market IMO. Coming from Greece this was my first de blade I used and the shave ended up in a blood bath. Bic Astor is a blunt blade nothing compared to the bic chrome platinum made also in Greece. It's good though you gave it a try.

Actually I've noticed in the past couple videos that you might have missed some stubble 😄 Maybe just the lighting?

You always look like there is still stubble in the lack of goatee area, Paul.

this soap smells like gasoline and the slickness is minimal. it's the worst soap i have ever came across
