This show got me through the worst of the Pandemic. I love this show! It's a bummer I didn't see it when it originally came on TV. I was a lot like Lorelai in the 90's. Discovering the healing qualities of coffee, cappuccinos, and good tacos. Now all I need is a real life Paris. "Not the city, but a force of nature".
OMG! Yes! Gilmore Girls has continued to be a guide & comfort through difficult times for me through. GG continues to guide & comfort me through life! I almost want to move to a sweet small town & work at a local Inn jic it can be like this
This is my comfort show. Got me through some rough times .. but that Luke, infuriating how he just lets life pass by and just sits on the sidelines watching Lor go from one miserable relationship to the other
Upon rewatching it the show still stands up,(Well mostly, you know the subplot I'm thinking of). It's still funny, emotionally salient and clever, and well performed, but the music is more prominent than I remembered, it sticks out. I don't hate it, but I can't believe that I used to find it unobtrusive. I wonder if the sound guys had one person who was just in charge of the "La La's"
You're right, an apple. She carries her weight on her midsection. Not noticable during the earlier seasons, because she was slimmer. But during the later seasons and especially during A Year In The Life, you can really tell. Not saying it looks bad, just that she's an apple, body shape wise.
Pilot was shot in Canada. Not the same diner as the WB lot. Note the neon open sign. The WB lot was Stars Hollow. Set of Hart of Dixie. Pretty little Liars. A lot of movies. Midwest or any town USA . Been there since the 40's .
i want someone to look at me the way luke looks at lorelai... even in the earlier seasons, you can see it in his eyes, he was in love with her long before she fell for him
The different sets are just from the pilot episode. After the show got picked up they were able to build more permanent sets, and those are the ones we see throughout the rest of the show.
None of them are the same from the original seasons to Year In The Life because some of the sets from Gilmore girls were reused for pretty little liars
I automatically turned into Lorelai tonight that i went to a party (i am very shy). The birthday boy always hits on me (which i don’t mind but once again i am very shy) she is my whole inspiration and I wish i was like her. I just stood there so confidently with my small handbag (like her) with my drink and being very nice with the guests. I just love her a lot
Thanks... watching this I´ve felt like 20 yo again.. and recalled how mucho I loved this woman ( and I am talking about Lauren)... great dialogues and stunning performances... certainly THE ONLY GOOD work Seann Gunn has made...
Eye color is similar. Ends there. Alexis(former model) learned her craft from Lauren. So, they have some of the same acting techniques. Good match for compatibility.
Not everyone looks like both parents. My brother looks like neither of my parents. He looks like my mother's father. Genes are not that black and white. Plus, you know, they're not ACTUALLY mother and daughter. I think the same eye colour is a fun concidence and detail. I've seen worse parent/kid combo's in movies and tv shows.
I hate Lorelai Gilmore. She's so self centered. She treats everyone around her like they are less and only need to cater to her needs. And she also thinks that everything she likes and says is just perfect.
Well Miss Lorelai, I can't count the number of hours I've spent watching your show, over and over and over, laughing myself silly and always hearing some one-liners I never caught before. I was going to try to find you and ask you to marry me, but then I learned you don't like Hootie and the Blowfish, and I knew it would never last. There are some other series I've watched a number of times, and after a while, I start to notice little chinks in the armor where the actor just didn't quite get it right. Not so with you. You are amazingly good, and the more I watch the show, the more impressed I am. "I like it warm!" in the head master's office is such a perfect example- facial expressions and mannerisms, voice inflections.... you capture SO MUCH in a simple short line. You are the BEST!
