Hey Matti - Two things. 1) Praise - 2) Question. 1) PRAISE: This was my favourite video from you, period. It has everything: Nostalgic travel feels, friends, life updates, beautiful visuals, sound design and even some education sprinkled in. I absolutely resonate with the tripod being an evolution in our journey. For what it's worth, I REALLY prefer the tripod shots in this as it made me feel like I'm actually there. 2) QUESTION: I hate asking gear questions, but did you grade this mostly using Dehancer in Davinci? And if so, did you achieve the bloom by using a Promist, by using Dehancer, or by using Scatter? Whatever your process was, it looks absolutely FLAWLESS. Everything came together beautifully and made this video feel like an actual film. 🍿

Every tool has its' place - wide angle/telephoto - handheld/gimbal/tripod/drone - F8 or F1.4 - hard light/softlight - Backlight/frontlight - etc etc etc ... Using them with intention to advance a story or an aesthetic is what separates the pro from the amateur

I personally like my camera on a monopod on a video pan/tilt head. Quite handy for run and gun. Then it's fairly stable for some movement shots, though it'll look weird putting them on your shoulder like a bazooka. 🤤🤤🤤

Nice job, just not groundbreaking teachings here just going back to basics. If you really want to be a good filmmaker go a write an essay on the shots of your favorite films, you will find out that most of them are on a tripod, of course there are great films that use a lot of movement but you need to concentrate in what you are trying to tell, is movement going to help with the story or not.

mmmhhhh mhhhh, never ever used a gimbal. Except for gopro stuff. Never ever used electronic or software stabilizer, except for gopro stuff. I need very slow movement or fixed shot. Because i need to compose my pictures. It need to preview light, and sometimes run. i used three video tripod since 25 years. gimbals are just stabilizer, just an help. Few people know how to move camera, and so few peoples do they own stuff, from own pace.
