Gimp: How to make an old-fashioned, sepia colored photo with a serrated decorative edge. Enoy and... have fun.
Gimp 2.8.22 standard - Windows 10
👉👉👉 NOTE FOR GIMP 2.10 USERS: 1- In the color palette move the cross to the left to get gray. 2- Colorize: make the hue 0,1000 and the saturation 0,4000. 3- Adjust the RGB noise to your liking. 👈👈👈

I tutor a Gimp class at our local Seniornet and have used quite a few of your very informative and easy to follow tutorials. My students really enjoy them. Thank you for making them so freely available. Now I have a question - I don't have the thumb nails of the graphics used at the top of my Gimp window, can you tell me how to get them, please

Thank you so much for your kind comment, its so nice to read that people enjoy the tutorials 😊 About the thumb nails, I make my tutorials with the current stable version of Gimp, which is 2.8.22. This version has the thumb nails standard, by default. Hope this helps. Have a nice weekend!

Another amazing tutorial. I have looked a lot, but have not found any better Gimp tutorials than those offered by gimp workshop. Easy to follow instructions for complex procedures including files to use to follow the tutorial. This guy is the really deal! Comment for you: I work on an Apple machine, and in the Change Foreground Color dialogue box, there is no eyedropper, so I cannot complete the tutorial. Not sure way it is not there on the Apple??????

Hi Jane!! Great post, thank you very much, I am glad you enjoy the tutorials. 👍About Apple... I am not really familiar with Apple. But you can try the following: Activate the color picker in the tool box. (Shortcut O). Make sure that you have the right layer or image selected, so that you do not pick the color in a transparent area. In this way you can also pick a color from a layer or image. Or even more easy: fill in at the HTML notation: 7 a 5 8 3 4, which is the fairly dark color of the skin of the girl. 😃

This is what I had to do on the Apple: with the Portrait layer selected, activate the color picker in the tool box, and hold down the Shift key while clicking with the color picker tool on the desired area of the photo. Then I could follow the rest of your instruction (around 4:34 in the video.) Thanks and shalom.

This week my SeniorNet class completed this exercise without too much trouble and enjoyed doing it. A regular problem seems to occur with the one student who has an Apple computer. I thought in Gimp that Apple & PC were pretty much the same. Do you know what if any differences there are? Thanks for the interesting and easy to follow tutorials.
