Hey nick, I started using GIMP recently. Am an absolute beginner in any design or editing related fields, and I want to thank you for your absolutely well done tutorials. By far, yours is the only tutorial I will visit on YT. Clear presentation, very easy to follow and it's very friendly from a beginner's perspective to pick up the various knowledge. Thank you very much. Please keep up the good work and we're looking forward to more of your tutorials! Cheers.
I can't get over how phenomenal your tutorials are. You have been a life saver for me. I'm definitely considering purchasing your tutorials via your website. Great work!
Well done, easily explained tutorials. You make great content for people who are venturing into the land of open-source design work. Appreciate it a lot.
Question: How much would you charge to create thumbnails for my videos? Not sure if you are available but thought i would ask. Do you do any video editing? Awesome work my friend, I'm amazed at your skill!
The unified transform tool isn't on my gimp program for some reason just says cage transform & shift L doesn't do anything either could you help me please?
Yes, similar in some ways, but introduces some new techniques. Wax seal is a great idea! I'll see about doing something like that with either Inkscape or GIMP.
I would prefer Gimp, but not being choosy. Love these videos. One thing I wish you could do is explain THE WHY of what you are doing. I can follow your tutorials really well, but at times (many times) I don't totally understand the WHY. If you could briefly explain the WHY's at times I think more of us would understand the thought process.
I don't have an immediate use for this particular effect, but every video I watch from Logos By Nick teaches me a little more about using GIMP tools! #ThriftyAV
Hi Nick, quick question.... I am thinking of using thus effect for my pool teams shirts. Is there a way to expand the center of the text so it looks like an eight ball is crashing through? Thanks in advance....Rick
Nick amazing work so far love the tutorials but I have to ask how to superimpose let's say a flag onto an existing object in the current build of gimp thanks in advance for any advice
Thanks for another great tutorial, Nick. I just bought your 150 logos through your website, and I just want to suggest that you maybe point more easily to the offer somewhere in your website's navigation. Maybe I overlooked the link, but I ended up using your search and only finding it because I remembered the number 150 that I had seen somewhere.
Great tutorial as always Nick.... thank you very much. You can move multiple cutout paths at once also. Instead of floating one piece at a time, after you close out one path, you can hold shift and trace out a new selection area with the paths tool....and both paths will act as one You can even do more if you repeat the hold shift and make a new path...Any transformation etc you do to one will be applied to all. I like your method though...I understand why you did it this way as well. and I'm learning alot from your tutorials
could you do a tutorial on how to make a logo with rips through the logo? I'm having trouble making that kind of logo using gimp on linxus and using a png image.
Thanks for these vids Nick! Transitioning away from Adobe products (which I've used for years), your tutorials help make that a reality quickly. Much respect!!
why did you use the path tool to later create a selection from it instead of just using the lasso tool? like, is there a reason or is it just preference?
