As a daughter of the late Wilma Mankiller, principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, Gina Olaya is a true living legacy. Unfortunately she suffers from the same health issues that plagued her mother and many others in her family. By carrying her mother's memory with her, she navigates a difficult life with grace and continues to serve our tribe.

Sadly, Gina passed yesterday but joyfully she is now back together with her Mom. What a wonderful video of her. I knew Gina since 2002 and worked with her for 11 years. She was such a wealth of knowledge and such a joy to have as a friend. I will always remember her.
