Ginger Rogers appears in this VERY Pre-Code scene from the film Professional Sweetheart from 1933. She plays the "Purity Girl" of a radio show who grows tired of not being able to do all the fun things other girls do, so the execs decide to run a raffle to marry her off to the first name picked out of a hat. Unfortunately for her she ends up married to a country hick called Jim Davy (Norman Foster), and in this scene she is less than impressed. Mind you, he's not so keen on who he's married and is so scandalized by her stripping to her skimpy underwear he decides she needs "correcting" of her immoral ways and bends her over and spanks her. It's quite a rough and tumble scene as well as Ginger doesn't take it lying down, but when he accidently knocks her out she fakes concussion so he will take her to bed. Oo er!
For Ginger Rogers this was just before her breakthrough role in Gold Diggers of 1933 and Flying Down To Rio (showing Fred Astaire a few dance moves). As for Norman Foster, he was lucky enough to be married to both Claudette Colbert (although they kept their marriage a secret for a couple of years due to fears of fan backlash) and later to Loretta Young's older sister Sally Blaine. He was also a screenwriter and director (including many of the Charlie Chan and Mr Moto features) and died in 1976, aged 72.
