Nice setup! I love your new tent. Fallen logs are an essential part of the forest ecosystem; habitat for animals and insects and act as fertilizer for trees and other vegetation. Sorry to be a bummer but consider if everyone did that. Please leave the fallen logs where you find them.
Wow looks like a lot of work but it sounded like you had a few cups of coffee 😂. Impressive, I hope you are camping longer than 2 days. Looks like a fun time.
Is there no danger of wildlife when camping in Florida? I'm in Canada and if anything even remotely related to food is left out, you have a 99.9% chance of it being destroyed by racoons and a 50% chance of a bear eating u in ur sleep while looking for your toothpaste. Must be nice :) Also, we are not allowed to forage firewood in most places/campgrounds.
We've been told here (in Florida) that you're better off leaving your food well outside of your tent. We have bear boxes in a lot of places that also have a latch for a padlock. As for racoons, I've seen more of those in the city than the woods honestly, but that might just be me lol.
Love love the setup!!! This totally inspired me to step up my camping kitchen game! Ours has a sink but it’s just a flat table so I’ll need to improvise!
Since you are car camping go to the Goodwill ( or the like ) and get heavy fry pans and cook wear. Cast Iron is you can find it. Don't worry if it is rough or rusty. Just sand it smooth and season it in your oven at home. Those light cook sets are great if you are backpacking to save weight but when can camping go for the cast iron.
Great camping stuff. I love glamping! Although I have a motorhome I still love to buy stuff to make camping easier. We're always loaded up. I'd suggest to buy a Jackery 500 and solar panel which gives you plenty of power for lights and charging. I bought a Alpicool 20 liter frig or freezer cooler which the Jackery can run. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Try using landscape fabric (the ones for weed prevention) for your outdoor flooring. I used it for my outdoor mat and canopy flooring. It will not keep the water out, but it definitely kept the mud and other dirt off our shoes. In dry days, it keeps a barrier from the ground. One of the best outdoor camping hacks!
I've used the Coleman oven for years and just this year made a few adjustments so that it cooks more evenly and holds the temp better. First thing was to put two small fire bricks on the bottom of the oven. We have 2 wood burning stoves in our house so we always have extra but I'm sure you can find them somewhere near you. Second thing was to buy a (CHEAP) welding blanket and cover three sides of the oven while it's baking. This has been a game changer. This past week I baked a loaf of no knead bread, which bakes at 550°, and it was a beautiful loaf. Hope you find this useful. I've looked at many camp ovens and decided that the Coleman is really the best option out there especially given these two mods. Happy camping!
I found a pizza stone the fit the bottom of the stove to hold the heat.... but welding blankets around the outer walls is brilliant.... thanks for sharing.
Parks in our home province d not allow collecting of any deadfall in the park for any purpose. It is t be left to serve it’s natural purpose. Not meant as a criticism but just a comment that park rules can vary in different places.
I am married with four sons, that are grown and gone. However, I did my best to drag my family off to camp every summer for the last 35 years. To this day I get little- to-no enthusiasm or cooperation when it comes to doing it in style. I have collected tons of great gear, but my husband remains a diehard minimalist, which kills me. I plan and organize my gear and menu a month ahead of time down to every detail of the much anticipated week long trip, but once the loading begins his head explodes. I end up with a broken heart and ditching half my plans and losing a couple days as well. I truly envy your setup.
Maybe go solo to a campsite at a state park where it's safe and let him do something at home. Then you could have a chance to camp the way you want to. People take separate vacations all the time!
Same here, I started thinking about camping food days prior to camping. Once there , while cooking a meal I start thinking about the next meal and so forth😂😂😂😂😂
I love this!! do you put all that in a bear locker at night or leave it out? My dream kitchen... id just be worried about animals getting into my Food:(
Thank you! I left it out the first night and a gang of raccoons burglarized the bread and tortillas. 😂 I moved the snacks and bread into the car after that.
Although your kitchen set up is awesome, I wouldn't suggest putting a canopy over it! My friend was cooking under a canopy, and the gas was captured which led to an explosion that melted the top of the canopy's plastic and fell onto his skin which left a really bad burn. Beware!
Yikes! I didn’t cook anything under the canopy- it was either over the fire or if I used the burner I brought it out to the picnic table. Great tip though- I hope your friend is okay! 💜
Great set up! We're about to go camping and you reminded me to bring my can opener, so thank you! I did laugh when you said you were freezing at 60 degrees, though. We camp in the mountains and we are so excited it'll be 40 degrees at night this time, because it's usually in the low 30's at night in July and August and then 80's and 90's during the day!!
I know this is 3 years old, but I just found this, and I'm very impressed with your kitchen. You remembered the things that matter and didn't bring a lot of kitchen toys along. Simple is best! And I love how you organized your kitchen space. That's half the fun of camping is the food aspect, and a happy family chef is a happy camper!
Love your camp kitchen! So jealous! :) Have you had trouble though with any animals being attracted though? Just curious. We get bears around here (Virginia) stuff has to be locked up at night in cars.
The Coleman oven and Coleman coffee pot are two great inventions for camping. A three burner stove by Coleman and you can handle anything. The only thing I would add would be cast iron.
On the way there you need to Grab 2-3 bails of Hay from Tractor Supply…..spread it all over the campsite and you will have a much better Ginnie Experience. I do it 💯 of the times I got to Ginnie
Same I’d like to know and can’t find it. I’ve got the same Kitchen and all gadgets I love it and love this video I even found the rug at 5 below ! ❤️❤️❤️🏕
All mine fits in a fanny pack, when Im hiking for any length of time. But when the tots come, and we'll be extended camping in one place, out comes the truckload of comfort equipment. So i cant figure out if you're sad you live so rough (don't be), or trying to brag about your minimalist creds while hauling around a backpack (dont bother).
@@AmandaPandah Haha, you use a tent? How bourgeois. Hammock, tarp and sleeping bag(s) attached above fanny pack of necessities. Fanny pack is supported by belt and suspenders. What the infantry call a 'load bearing harness'.
@@AmandaPandah thanks. the less and the lighter, the faster and farther you can go. And the less nutritional need you have. It takes all kinds to make a world.
Nice “glamping” setup. What about the bears and raccoons? Do you ever have an issue with them rummaging around? Been 30 years since I was at High springs, great memories but I didn’t camp overnight. Nice video!
This is soothing to the soul! 😂😍 I am in the middle of building my camp kitchen and my husband thinks I’m crazy! 😅😂 i love the spice box you have! I have just filled up some stackable containers but there’s only 5! Love your set up and would love to see more!! X
This is so many parks by me. Cramped and people that come to camp to party, not enjoy nature. I've been to many campgrounds where it sounds like a block party. Started bringing noise cancelling headphones and earplugs.
@@CroakerOutdoors Agreed. All the RV shows on television and people are wanting a tv or speakers outside. Why? Why would you want to disrupt nature for other campers by bringing in the same noise you can get at home? or music that only YOU may like. I guarantee, if I played some Bluegrass at the same level some campers like to play their music they wouldn't like it either.
@@conniefoxx9813 Yeah, different strokes for different folks. I would like to see quiet loops much like some campgrounds will have dog and dog free loops. I have to actively try to not let it bother me sometimes hence noise cancelling headphones with podcasts and audiobooks! Usually I'm early to bed early to rise and I love how quiet the campground is in the morning, both nature and the people.
Great setup!! Can I ask which camp site number you guys were located at? Trying to plan a trip but don’t want to be too far away, or too close to others. Thank you!
😂😂 Also have a great time packing 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ great set up for someone who does not mind packing and unpacking etc … 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️💯💯💯🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️ #ImGood
I love your camping set up. I think my daughter has the same grey pink stripe bathing suit top on your dresser. I thought I was done amazon shopping for camp stuff, guess not😆
❤ I'm a new fan of yours I thinking about getting me a check and I'm looking at your videos and I love everything about your videos the way you got everything set up the way you set up how much did u pay for your tent
I always have the worst luck. The number of times a newbie camping neighbor pulls a wet punky log out of the woods to burn is all too high for me. The log smolders and I am smoked out for hours. Looks like you had a fun trip!
not bad now you need to add the hammocks, string lights and get a Bluetooth speaker to play the songs you want to here. thanks for posting your awesome set up
Bravo just keep having fun and learning wonderful job,,,,, get yourself cast iron and take this advice please, go to Facebook yardsale or to flemarket or local thrift store and only get griswold cast iron... trust me ..... look for deals you will find it and never get rid of it. Do not I repeat use new cast iron products..... older Wagner is good as well but griswold is the best.
Awesome camp!! Love camping at Ginnie. Planning a trip in April. I thought I had a great set up... but you are inspiring me to step up my game! I am obsessed with your kitchen. I LOVE camp cooking too. Thank you for sharing. Where did you get those cute solar powered lights? Love those!
New that a kitchen set up for sure. Nice video. I’m all in to help support your channel! New Sub here. We call that a hippie saw fire pit! I love burger but yes I never leave with out my cast iron! I’m with you on that. Don’t forget it next time! #momlife
