@Ella Wachtel, agreed. This scene was so sweet because I love seeing this side of Marcus. I also don't blame Ginny for being upset and embarrassed at seeing her mother drunk and flirting with another man, or her Aunt Maddie passed out on the floor. If I were her age at that moment, I might honestly react in a similar way. Especially in front of my friends and a guy I liked.
@Isata Bangura agreed. It's hard for me to grasp how some fans or the other characters in the show can view him as toxic. He is just deeply misunderstood.
because Maxine is self centered and she doesnt pay attention to what is going on around her cause it was pretty obvious marcus and ginny had something going on
I think Ginny is a perfect depiction of teens going into adulthood. We all think we are the “main character” and love to blame our problems on others. We feel like no one understands anything we go through and all our problems are so big. She displays so much that people can relate too. (of course this is super dramatic and overdrawn out but i think focusing her character based on these things that may seem little to US helps us really look at our own perspective)
I also like that Ginny (like all teenagers) has these really great qualities and others that are super frustrating. Like she's amazing with her brother but also bratty to her mom. Or she lashes out at Marcus when he catches her self harming, but also tries desperately to find out if he's okay and apologize after the accident. I wonder if one of the reasons people sometimes find her so irritating is because she's so relatable and no one wants to realize that they too were such a mixed bag of emotions and qualities at 16.
@@annediadamo7180 well said!! I agree with you: I think Ginny is a complicated character because she has those conflicting qualities: she's painfully real and may hit too close to home for some viewers. Those qualities are why I find her captivating: her story draws me in emotionally, and I remember being difficult at her age. We aren't always our best selves, especially with the people we love. It all makes me care about her, despite some things about her behavior I didn't like. So I get frustrated when I see comments that just reduce Ginny to "ungrateful" or "mean." Georgia is easier to love, but I have a harder time relating to her larger-than-life storyline, or what is like to be that beautiful or charming.
I want to see more of Ginny side of things because I’ve notice a lot of people hater her but we don’t know all of what happened in the past and she’s obviously hurting bad when Marcus talked about his best friend and he thought about death and when he told her she needed to get help because it works , I really hope she does in season 2 I understand her character and yes she can be selfish sometimes but we all had a moment where we just thought about ourselves
Exactly I think people forget that she is 16, and not an adult. She has never had a stable life. Yet, people expect her to be mature and very understanding when she is getting to be an young adult
@@hailyberry2613 being raised poorly or in a poor environment dosent give you a pass to be garbage, just because bad things happen to you dosent mean you get a pass..if anything I've grown up in a broken home..and yes it made me cruel, but it also made me smart, i wont piss off the people i intend to use later or ie I don't shit where I eat, i learned tat at f-ing 12..this girl singlehandedly blew u her entire support system in a span of one night. no one is that stupid.
I couldn't imagine having a mother like Georgia. Not knowing where you are going to live next, or how long you'll stay there, or who she'll end up with. Moving so much you don't have friends or know who you are.
@@Ella-px1xw it’s not because she’s blonde lmao it’s just tha georgia is more fun to watch while ginny is hard to watch cuz she’s always getting into trouble but it’s hard to understand but i honestly love them both and i feel bad for ginny lol
@@Ella-px1xw it's more coz they never showed how hard it is for ginny i mean she moved here and had friends instantly Also people don't think nowadays so yeah
Honestly all the praise Georgia gets kind of pisses me off a little bit don’t get me wrong I love her but she is kind of a train wreck which is something she unintentionally passed on to her daughter but given her upbringing and what she had to go through at such a young age I doubt she knows anything else
@@sirarthurofwinterfell282 i personally don't like Georgia and from the beginning of the show I said she may love her kids but she is a terrible mother.
@@judycarrasco74 Total mess ugh! In front of my friends?! But I can't hate my mom no matter what! I'd simply not have friends idk, but this is not OK I get why Ginny be mad though... I feel like Ginny went to extreme for using the word 'Hate' that's a strong word and made Ginny seem uptight and ungrateful
@@exceldebby1420 you make a strong point! "hate" is a big word, when something else is closer to what she means: I'm embarrassed, I'm angry, etc. But "hate" is something that I think we say a lot, but don't actually mean -- especially when we're mad at our family or loved ones. And I think Ginny is quite angry at her mom: for her lies, for making her and Austin move around so much, for making her feel like she doesn't measure up (Georgia doesn't do this intentionally, but Ginny feels it regardless). Remember: Ginny is so hurt/angry to the point of self-harm. As viewers, we see Georgia's side of things, but Ginny doesn't know what we know. And as a teen, it can be hard for her to see things from her mom's perspective. I ❤ Ginny and adore her and Marcus -- but I think the show also might have gone a bit too far in showing a "stereotypical teen" bratty side, especially after she became part of MANG. I'm really hoping they let her mature a bit more next season. She and Georgia don't have to be besties, but I think a better relationship between the two would be more fun to watch.
Season 2 should be Maxine and her friends looking for her and maybe Ginny had an accident and Marcus cries and says he doesn't want to loose ginny and Maxine and her friends overheard and see how their relationship is strong I don't know about Georgia's part
omgggg yes agree i said something similar to that like the whole mang will hopefully put aside their differences to find ginny that’s what i am hoping for
Just from the way he talks to her and how he shows so much affection and care for her, she feels like Marcus is someone she can talk to, someone who makes her feel important and free from all the bullshit thats going on with her family. And while she obviously she's dating Hunter, she obviously feels better around Marcus.
Why do people hate Ginny so much? She's a 16 year old girl, She has never had anything stable in her life, and Georgia isnt helping that. Yes she loves Ginny and would do anything for her. But think of this if Ginny was a real person and you saw everything that has happened to her. would you say she was evil then?
hey if you go on a website called myflixter, in incognito you can watch it all there! just don’t click any links and don’t download any of the episodes and it’s safe :)
Ginny is such an exhausting character, I mean I guess seeing your parents drunk is kinda annoying but Ginny really needs to grow up, I don't understand what was ruined here
EXACTLY like is it just me but did she have literally no reason to disrespect and hate her mom the way she did . Like shit get my mom for a day and see how it feels
