So unspeakably special is Gino. Thanks for the Arsenio find, just wish I would have bought and HELD the Hundai and MasterCard stock these years, Ha. But Gino Vanelli will forever have stock in my ❤️.🐎🌟
Gino's voice is incredible but when it is paired with powerful background performers like his 1978 live performance of I just wanna stop his vocals are just out of this world.
If Gino was transported early in his career to this era of music shows like American Idol, the Voice, and America's Got Talent. I guarantee you, he'd would have over 500 million views going toward a billion views after becoming famous whether he won a talent show or not!
Now I know why Arsenio was canceled. He pretended to be a fan of some, but didn't even know or care about basic things about his guests. If he had spent even 1 minute researching Gino, he would have known he was a drummer/percussionist since 8-10 years old. But instead, he relied on his pitiful laurels. Shame, shame. No wonder he's gone, but Gino's still going STRONG!
Actually, Arsenio Hall left because he wanted to. Back in 1996, he’s been blessed with a son, and last he wanted to take care of his mother and his household. Arsenio was on OWN with Oprah interviewing him. He also came back in 2013-2014 and he left again.
I agree but it's TV you know. As much as I love Gino, you have to put some of the blame on him too. Hear me out. Gino wasn't really that well known in the US. Most people only remember him for "I Just Wanna Stop" They didn't even remember 'LIving Inside Myself" even though that was also a hit, sadly. I've tested this on friends, family and colleagues. Mention Gino and the first thing they say "I Just Want To Stop" and they know no other songs smh. So unfortunately he was seen to most Americans as a one hit wonder. :( I partly blame Gino for that because he made the big mistake of not touring in America in the 80s. "Living Inside Myself" was a hit here, why no freaking tour? I do remember an HBO special from that time though. Or was it WHT? Anyway "Black Cars", "Hurts To Be In Love" would have have been bigger hits if Gino toured here and did the talk show rounds. Carson, Letterman etc. But he didn't. Big mistake. "Wild Horses" also would have been big here too. Again he didn't tour. See where I'm getting that. Arsenio would have treated him with greater respect had he been known for more than one or two songs here
Fortunately there is a concert with the Het Metropole Orkest that does Gino Vanelli's talent justice. It's his own magnificent re-interpretation of his music.

Arsenio was an idiot, didn't even know the most basic thing about Gino,(drummer), and thought he was better just cause he had a talk show. You got your come upkins Arsenio, now no one knows who the hell you were/are, but we still love respect, admire, adore, and go to the concerts of Gino.
Ok, already! Arsenio ended his show to focus on being a Father. Maybe research is something that would also benefit you when speaking about something you clearly aren't informed enough to speak on.
Gracias por haber subido estos videos, no los había visto.. Soy FAN de Gino.. Lo vi en Bs As.. Teatro Rex.. Era la primera vez que el iba a Argentina.. Y tuve la suerte de verlo, tocarlo tomarme foto con él..un talentoso, virtuoso, con esa voz..

Well, for one thing, Sting is a turd. Gino has a very interesting anecdote about meeting Sting that doesn't paint him in the best light. He was an arrogant @hole even to his bandmates.

THAT Gino is a tiny guy. I have met 3 different men, at meet-and-greets. One tiny and skinny, one much younger, and one sexy 6 foot 2 guy with beautiful shoulders (my favorite).
My heart is filled with joy knowing that I am blessed with the best fans your support is what keeps me going.... thanks for commenting, I appreciate the feedback! where are you from??

Just got my ticket for the 09-16-23 show in Ohio - cannot wait - this man gives a 2+ hour live show that is amazing to watch! Arsenio always had the coolest musicians as guests!
I don't know what it is. But it is the second time I see this singer Gino wear pants that shows his 'stuff.' 😅 The first time I saw him was on Soul Train and it was the same way. It doesnt look decent. He needs something to hold him in. Lol😅.
I agree with Elaine.....but not just unsettling, it’s horrible. It’s the worst Gino I ever saw. With all his magnificent compositions, and performances over the years, why not just listen to his complete originals, or his performances? RU-vid advertised this to us today....they are crazy. They do not get it. I could listen to the live performance in LA of “If I Should Lose This Love,” 100 times, but I will never watch this again.
Gino lowered his standards to be on that show, Arsenio didn't even know he started out as a drummer, obviously hadn't done any research or homework on him at all. Arsenio got what his big ego deserved, no show, and forgotten about. But Gino? still odored, making music and touring the WORLD!
Arsenio never bothered to do any research ... his most common question when "interviewing" someone started with, "didn't I read in People Magazine ..." Gino class enough to rise above it
