I heard this song late one night on the radio and it was so good. For weeks I listened for it and went to the local mall music stores, couldn't find it. Finally one day I took a bus ride into the hood with a friend. We happened to go into a mom and pop type record store. I saw the Giorge Pettus album and picked it up. I saw the title on the back and hoped this was the song I was looking for and bought it with the money I was supposed to buy lunch with. That hungry afternoon was totally worth it when I got home and put the record on, and to my great joy, it was the record I wanted. 30 plus years later I still have that vinyl.
Summer of ‘87! This was my song to my then girlfriend/ now wife just before I shipped out for boot camp. She must’ve understood what this was talking about because all these years later we are still together!!!
This is why I love coming to RU-vid to listen to music. You can find artist that you've forgotten about or never heard of. These are our lost UNSUNG artist that we never were able to hear enough of.
Had this jam on a cassette back in high school. I never knew who the artist was. For some reason it just popped in my head and I had to look it up. Artist these days are putting out a lot of crap. This is a great song

Heard this song while at an appointment. I'd totally forgotten about this song. Still know every word. Good Music. They don't make music like this anymore.
Hey you got that right! Just listening to this at 2 am 6/7/2020 on V103 with Glenn Crosby/DJ Chris Holiday! Over 30 years old and still sounds good! Be Blessed and safe!✊🏽
this was one of my favorites back in the day 1988, that was where I was. Bad relationship/relationship[s, the past can be damaging, this just says " I ain't ready" still making that same request. check Baby Face, Two Occasions.
I use to always sing this some when I was a baby! My Aunt Felisha and her husband use to play this song all the time. I love it!! Brings back so many memories of my childhood.❤️ DJ

OMG heard this today on Herb Kent's show. Truly a masterpiece of Soft Smooth Soul. Have not heard this in soooo many years. Yet, it was just like yesterday when I heard it on the radio. I had to stop driving and listen. Awesome song for sure. Too bad the people in music industry did not keep a pulse on what the AA community really truly wants to hold as "gold" in our hearts, and mind.
