Just because he has not overwhelming punches or kicks Petrosyan is one of the most studied fighters by all other MMA fighters. Because he knows what to do, how not getting hit, and most of all, he can change the fight momentum in the moment he wants, he always forces his opponent to do a game they don't like. Somehow, he reminds me of mr perfect Hoost, he was another one who always knew what to do.
Ouch. That was a technical beating. Petrosyan is outstanding on just about every level. He is proof that power is overrated when somebody uses their intelligence and efficiency.

Can't believe fucking Andy Ristie, who now at his top is nothing special, compared to the Buakaw, Souwer, Zambidis, Petro of the k-1 max days DEFEATED Petrosyan, saddest day in the fight sport this year...
I think Ristie was just a stylistic nightmare for Petrosyan. Petrosyan is a lot more technically sound than Ristie, but Ristie is young, long, strong and awkward to deal with. Petrosyan is the man, though. One of the greats and always will be.
Giorgio was winning up until the KO. He broke his hand in the first round, but was still controlling the pace, out-striking Ristie, and up until the KO he was avoiding major damage. He just got hit with a shot he didn't see coming. It happens. It does nothing to tarnish his legacy as an all-time great.
I love Petrosyan’s Style, very clean fighter. Know what he is doing, calme, smart. And btw His both parents are Armenians he just live in Italy and have the Italian Nationality but he is a proud Armenian you can see that.
Wonder how the result wouldve been had andy gotten a better bracket. Having to fight buakaw and kyshenko before reaching petrosyan must’ve worn him out, while petrosyan had an easier bracket
Souwer fought 4 tough rounds against Buakaw before the final. Petrosyan won by KO at the first round an uknown Japanese fighter. He was not so tired and he won easily.
Probably, the cut under Souwer's eye was painful, and he was tired, but Giorgio HAS A BROKEN HAND in this fight… He broke his hand in the match you mentioned, against the Japanese Yuya Yamamoto. This injury caused his forfait against Masato. In fact Petrosyan was replaced by Souwer in the last Masato's match. I hope I've explained well, my English is not very good.

As a lefty fighter.. I do admit lefty fighters have their advantage. righty fighters have to study and adapt to the lefties, whereas the lefties need much less time to adapt to the righties.
2 Losses in his Career/ Tied Buakaw Rightfully so is/did Petrosyan. When they fought in another K-12 years prior. My Favorite MT/Kickboxer and Kickboxer/MT combat athletes. Why am I saying this? Because I Love Buakaw's traditionalist style and perfection of a Nuk Soo Muay! (Pressing forward throwing tree cutters at his opponents among other techniques.) Sorry, it adds to how this fight should have been Buakaw/Petrosyan. Buakaw did so much damage, Andy's body feels like he was wrapped w/ pillows and put in a cement truck for a day. That decision still gets me heated second when the Title being robbed from Buakaw. Andy Souwer is a warrior. I take no credit away from him. It's any given Sunday out here w/ these top athletes... Andy couldn't give Buakaw the Decision after if he wanted to... But he sure as hell posts it on his channel... not even in the same circle as the other 2. It's an opinion you can formulate after seeing a 5-10 year gap of 4-6 fighters and how Judge's bad decisions can weigh in on a fighter's life for the worse.
