Had to come back and comment since it’s end of 2020 and I have updated thoughts: so this has actually become a staple in my stash now. I have since classified this as a protein-moisture balancing Conditoner and I really think it does a great job conditioning my hair when my hair could go anyway between more protein or moisture. Its pH balanced formula really helps smooth my cuticles and honestly I can use with or without heat. I find using it with its companion shampoo does make my hair feel stronger and the overall feel of my hair afterwards feel more like I did a medium protein treatment.
I really love the smooth as silk I found it a tj maxx and never endured it before but now this is my must have and go to. I’ve tried a lot of different shampoo and conditioners and my hair is really picky. This one does the job and leaves it so nice and soft and not frizzy. I even use the conditioner as a leave in right before I get out of the shower it’s the biggest miracle for my hair.
Used it for the first time my last wash day and while it didn’t have the moisture I expect and like in a deep conditioner that claims to be moisturizing I did like how smooth and strong my hair felt after. I definitely got smoother blowdrying results after I blowdried with my Revair and also have seen much less frizz this week since I last washed and used this. I’m curious if it’s just this conditiner or in conjunction with the Oyin pomade either way my hair was left smooth and frizz free and I’ll continue to use it. I also got it from TJMaxx it’s a whole bargain for the size and price!
This product is NOT a deep conditioner by any means. It claims deep moisture that is all. It is a regular grade rinse out conditioner. Very clean , natural without any added silicones and such. A deep conditioner will have additional oils and fats added to it and some form of protein. This is the difference. A lot of people get this confused and purchase it as a DC. If you want to use it in this way it would be best to mix it with additional products such as slippery elm marshmallow root , mayonnaise, avocado any type of fatty oils that your hair may like . I even use banana in mine.
